Robin Michelle Watson was lovingly welcomed into this world by her parents Robert and Wilma McDaniel on September 19, 1978 at Memorial Hospital in Long Beach, California. This bouncing baby girl was the sixth child of the family's ten children.
Robin’s Education and Career. Educated at Aurora Central High School in Aurora, Colorado, Robin graduated with the class of 1997 and went on to enjoy a successful career at Radiology Imaging Associates until April 2020.
Robin’s Greatest Joy. Robin was a loving, devoted, and present mother who unconditionally supported her children through both good and challenging times. Robin enjoyed decorating her home and took great joy in creating a nurturing and loving home environment where her children could thrive. She provided well for her children and made sure they had the best.
Robin’s Faith. Brought up in the Christian tradition of faith, Robin and her family attended the Greater Wayside Community Temple Church of God in Christ in Denver, Colorado under the leadership of Superintendent Charles E. Scurles. Robin participated with excellence in numerous ministries at Wayside including Sunday School, Sunshine Band, Purity Class, Friday Night Youth Services, Young People’s Willing Worker (YPWW), and Young Women’s Christian Counsel (YWCC).
Robin’s Love of Music. Extremely gifted and talented with a natural ear for music, Robin discovered a love of music at a young age when she mastered the piano. In high school, she learned to skillfully play the violin and become a member of the Aurora Central High School Orchestra. Robin was a founding member of the Youth Orchestra at Wayside which included her siblings and other young people. In fact, the first song she played with the Youth Orchestra was Canon in D, and when the Youth Orchestra played Total Praise, they received a standing ovation. Her favorite song was Praise Is What I Do. Robin soon began professionally playing music at various church services, weddings, and nursing homes. Of course, it was only natural that Robin would be musically inclined because she comes from a family of skilled musicians. Robin’s musical legacy lives on in her oldest daughter Tatiyana.
Robin’s Personality. Robin’s mother loves to fondly share that once when picking her up from kindergarten, she did not see Robin. She began searching and searching for her child. Suddenly, Robin walked up to her mother and stated: “If you take those big sunglasses off, you could see me!” This was Robin. Above all, Robin was extremely family-oriented and was blessed with a special gift of knowing how to unite her family. She loved seeing family fellowship and found creative ways to bring everyone together to make wonderful memories. Truly, Robin’s life embodied the phrase: “Live, Laugh, Love!”
Robin’s Character. Robin’s best attribute was her lovely smile, and she sought every opportunity to infect others with it. Truly, she was beautiful inside and outside. Robin was a woman of many passions including traveling, shopping for others, and finding the latest fashions for herself especially anything labelled Guess or Michael Kors. Robin’s favorite colors were pink and white and French fries and ice cream were her favorite foods (she often ate them at the same time). Robin was passionate about making sure her family and friends felt her love, and often ended her communications with her signature phrase: “Forever and Always.” And when she called her mother, the first words out of her mouth were always: “What are you doing?”
Robin’s Final Act. We rejoice that on December 13, 2020 in the presence of her parents, Robin confessed her sins and surrendered her life to Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Departure. Peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on December 19, 2020, the Most High God called Robin from this life to eternity. Death cannot steal the precious memories we share of her profound influence in our lives and we celebrate the tremendous joy she brought to us. We humbly submit to God’s will.
Robin is Preceded in Death by her father Robert Stanley McDaniel, Sr., who was a loving dad to all of his children; her beloved sister Carlene Rochelle McDaniel; and the love of her life, Dwight Sykes.
Robin Michelle Watson leaves to forever cherish her memory her mother Wilma Jean (Marvin) Roundtree (Aurora, CO); sons Treyvon and Tyson (Aurora, CO); daughters Tatiyana, Jada, and Jyzelle (Aurora, CO); brothers Robert McDaniel, Jr. (Aurora, CO), Roland McDaniel (Aurora, CO), and Raydale (Shing) McDaniel (Lochbuie, CO); sisters Stephanie Sy, Lisa (John) Durrah (Aurora, CO), Rosalyn (Lawrence) Buchanan (Denver, CO), Roshawn (Michael) Barnes (Brighton, CO), and Rachel (Kirkland) Brown (Enola, PA); and a host of treasured family and friends. ~Rest in Christ our beloved Robin.~
