Robin Georgette Andrea Banks-Simmons was born on April 23, 1959, in Denver, Colorado to her parents, Earl and Donna Banks. She was the second child born to this union. Raised with her sister, Deborah, they shared many things. As a child, Robin would pinch other children and smile about it. She loved to dance, model, and she also ran track. (And boy could she run…). Robin attended school in the Denver Public School District. She completed her formal education at Denver East High School in 1977. She was smart and loved helping others. Robin was the proud mother of Tyree, Dwayne, and LaDonna. They brought much joy to her life and shared many memorable moments together. Robin met Gary Simmons at Skyland Park in the heart of Denver. On April 20, 1999, they would exchange vows. Robin loved her time with Gary. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, friends. Robin was blessed with 36 grandchildren, and one great grandchild and she especially enjoyed sharing time with them. Lauaen remembers spending lots of time with her grandmother, shopping for heels. By profession, Robin could only do what she loved, to help others. She provided home health care to the elderly and those unable to care for themselves. She worked her job to perfection and always operated in the spirit of excellence. Robin loved the Lord with all of her heart. For the past year, she was a faithful member of Denver Christian Bible Church under the leadership of Pastor John Moreland. Her love for the Lord is what draw her to the ministry, and the Lord's love for her is what kept her there. 1 John 4:19 states, "We love him, because he first loved us." Robin had some good friends who stuck close to her, Peggy and Vannessa, friends to the end. They were inseparable. The remember her for being outspoken, always saying what was on her mind. Robin will be missed by all who knew her. Robin was preceded in death by her son, Dwayne Banks.
