Robert Ray

November 26, 1976 — December 7, 2015

Robert Wayne Rainey-Ray was born November 26, 1976, to his parents, Ronnie and Theresa Ann Ray. Robert was the second of six children. He was raised with his older brother, Quincey, and four younger sisters, Sabrina, Taschica, Sheena and Zena. His siblings remember him as being kind hearted and very loving following his mother everywhere she went. Robert attended school in Denver, Colorado, finishing his formal education at Metro South High School. While growing up, Robert would help his father get the younger children ready for school, before going to school, by doing their hair in ponytails, or in a braid or two. His parents would always throw big birthday parties for him, thankful for the son who was given to them on Thanksgiving Day. As a child, Robert loved to race his big wheel up and down the block. He was always filled with lots of energy. As he got older, he was given a dog who was later given the name, Scooter. Every winter, Robert would let his dog pull his sisters in a sled up and down the neighborhood alley. Filled with so much joy, Robert began taken an interest in music. As the years went on, Robert's music became a huge part of his everyday life; he started to write his own music with his brother, Quincey. They both became intrigued by this new talent they seem to possess. This encouraged them to start their own label under the name, "Playaz Advocate." Robert was blessed with three children, two daughters, Destiney and Alicia, and one son, Shavan, who was nicked named, "Mookie." He was also given the opportunity to become a stepfather to Loretta, Alex and Isaiah. His children were everything to him; he loved teaching them and would always support them in doing the things that meant so much to them. Robert was a kind son, brother, father, and friend with love to go around. He will be missed by all who were blessed enough to have known him. Robert Wayne Rainey-Ray departed this life on December 7, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, mother, father, siblings, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
