Robert L. Moore was born on September 5, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan to his parents, Robert L. Moore, Sr. and Martha Johnson Moore. He was the only child born in the family. He received his formal education in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he graduated from high school. Robert united in holy matrimony to Betty Steens in November of 1946. To this union, a daughter, Carol was born. This marriage was later dissolved. In 1953, he wed the former, Lavon Banks. They exchanged vows in Elko, Nevada. To this union, Terry, Ronald, Bonnie and Anthony were born. He was also the proud father of another daughter, named Dakota. He was a loving and devoted father, who enjoyed the quality time shared with his children. They shared many happy and precious moments together. He was later blessed with seventeen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren, who all were an additional source of joy and pride in his life. Robert was no stranger to hard work. As a young man, he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and the federal government. In April of 1954, he relocated to Denver, Colorado. He became employed by the City and County of Denver. He was hard-working, dedicated and respected by his supervisors and co-workers. He remained with the company for over sixteen years being promoted to Supervisor. He retired on March 31, 1993. Robert later met a special friend, Pauline Westfield. They enjoyed traveling and spending quality time together. The love between them was unconditional and full of joy and happiness. Pauline preceded him death. Robert was a fun loving man, who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to music, watching sports, traveling and watching western movies. He will be remembered for his kindness, his strength, and love of life. To know Robert was to love him. Robert L. Moore departed this life on September 13, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include 3 sons, Terry L. (Cheryl) Moore of Denver, CO, Ronald E. (Aimia) Moore of Colorado Springs, CO and Anthony E. (Lisa) Moore of Aurora, CO; 3 daughters, Carol J. Craig of Salt Lake City, UT, Bonnie J. Moore of Little Rock, AR and Dakota R. Moore of Martin, SD; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
