Robert Michael Robinson, Jr. was the eldest child born to the late Robert Robinson and Catherine Sanders-Robinson on February 2, 1934 in Vouxhall, NJ. Robert had two brothers, Tommy and Kenneth, and one sister, Alice. As a child, the family nicknamed Robert, Robbie, for short. Robbie received his formal education in Vouxhall, NJ. He enlisted in the United States Army on May 14, 1951 as a Medical Specialist. During his enlistment, he served two tours in Vietnam, Germany, Hawaii, and Aurora, Colorado. He served his country for 26 years, receiving many accolades, accommodations, and medals several times over. Robbie achieved the rank of Command Sargent Major. While in the military, he also attained a Master of Arts Degree. While Robbie was stationed in Aurora at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, just before completing Nursing School, he met the ravishing beauty of Marion J. Franklin. She became the love of his life. They continued a long distance love affair even after he was transferred to Fort Sam Houston. One-year later, he received orders to go to Bad Nauheim, Germany. Shortly after arriving to his duty assignment, Robbie realized he was not complete without the love of his life. He sent for her, and there he asked for her hand in marriage. Although there were no children of their own, he was father figure to many giving advice on life, career, education, and spirituality. During Robert's military career, he was an outstanding leader, mentoring many onto becoming outstanding Officer's and NCO's alike. His most accomplished mentee attained the rank of Colonel to this day Col. Chuck Simmons and his wife Brigadier Gen. Bettie Simmons have remained loyal and trusted friends throughout the years. Robbie retired from the United States Army on December 31, 1978. He continued working in next career as a Real Estate Appraiser for the federal government from January 1980 to January 2000. Retiring again, he pursued his hobbies. Robbie became an avid golfer. His greatest accomplishment in golfing was getting an Eagle on the Fitzsimons Golf Course. Robbie also loved to bowl, having an average of 200. Of all that he loved, he really loved the family get-togethers, going to church, giving his tithes, watching gospel preaching programs on TV, visiting friends, and the simpler things in life. Robert Robinson was preceded in death by his parents, both his brothers, Tommy and Bishop Kenneth Robinson. CSM Robert M.
