Richard Jerard Burch was born on December 11, 1979, weighing in at a "strapping" 5lbs., 6 oz., at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado, to his parents, Phanchon Burch and Calvin Pyles, Jr. Richard accepted Christ at an early age. When asked by the minister if he loved the Lord, Richard proudly announced, "I SHO DO!" He attended school in the Denver Public Schools District. Richard expressed an interest in music, participating in the Colorado Children's Chorale and performing in the Nutcracker. After high school, Richard met Brandie Wilson. Together they had 3 children. He took extreme pleasure in being the father of E3: Elijah, Elachye' and Ekeira. Later, he would meet his wife and love, TatyanaTia Rivera and embraced the role of father to Leticia, who said, "Daddy loved everyone and we prayed together." TatyanaTia will never forget his favorite line: "You've got to have faith." Richard was into sports. He was a member of the Denver Street School's Bulldog Basketball State Championship Team. He would try anything at least once; fresh water fishing, ice fishing, golf, basketball, and football. He enjoyed hanging with the fellas playing chess, spades, dominoes, FIFA Futbol, and bowling. One of his proudest moments was bowling a perfect "300" game. He was a huge Denver Bronco fan! Richard was a baker making cinnamon rolls and sopapillas, but he was famous for his homemade bread, what we called, "Big Daddy Bread". Richard's professional career included customer service positions with various companies, the most recent being at A.C.T. where his peers say "he came in dancing with his headphones on, and would light up the room with his infectious smile and laugh." Richard found his passion at Heritage College of Denver, where he received his Associate of Occupational Studies Degree in Therapeutic Massage. Richard was employed at Oasis Sanctuary, Inc., where his clients said, "I felt like I was in the hands of a true healer", "Best massage I ever had," they also said things like, "A hurt so good type of massage." Richard loved Jay Z, but he loved "J.C." Jesus Christ even more. Richard affectionately called, Nephew Richard, RJ, and Burch completed God's work in the early morning hours Thursday, October 13, 2016 in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, TatyanaTia Rivera-Burch; his children, Elijah, Elachye', Ekeira and Leticia; his mother, Phanchon Burch and father, Calvin Pyles, Jr., his grandmother, Jessie L.
