Rhoda Gray

Rhoda A. Gray was born on August 25, 1960, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to her parents, Melvina Delille and Roosevelt Gray. Rhoda was raised with her five siblings, Lindetta, Roosevelt, Starlel, Warren, and Lawrance. From her youth, she was a helpful child who always put her hands to some activity.

Rhoda received her formal education in the Denver Public Schools and graduated from George Washington High School in 1978.

Rhoda was the proud mother of four wonderful children, who she loved and adored, Michael, Felisha, Alisha, and Benjamin.  They all enjoyed the time they shared together, and every moment was cherished.  Later, she met and married the love of her life, Vincent Harris.  Once Vincent and Rhoda connected there was no stopping this dynamic duo.  They loved each other’s company and hung on every loving moment.  Later, she was blessed with 10 wonderful grandchildren.  Vincent preceded Rhoda in death in 2017.

Hospitality was her specialty.  By profession, Rhoda loved to serve.  She worked in the hospitality industry for many years.  When she was unable to work in the industry, she still could not sit down, she would help fellow neighbors with many tasks, that was just who she was.

Rhoda would not complain, she would always say, "God’s Got Me."  “We believe this to be true.”  Rhoda was a woman who loved many, as many loved her back.

Rhoda was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Harris; and her father, Roosevelt Gray.

Rhoda A. Gray departed this life and entered into eternity on March 2, 2021, in Denver, Colorado.  She leaves a legacy of servitude to her children, Michael D. Gray, Felisha J. Gray, Alisha A. Gray, and Benjamin J. Gray; her mother, Melvina Delille; ten wonderful grandchildren and five siblings, Lindetta Brewer, Roosevelt Gray, Starlel Lee, Warren Lee, and Lawrance Delille; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
