Reverend Fletcher

April 18, 1950 — December 13, 2018

Reverend Larry J. Fletcher was born on April 18, 1950, in Hayti, Missouri, to his parents, Reverend George T. Fletcher and Annie Mae Fletcher. Raised around his brothers and sisters, Larry was a strong-willed child with a genuine heart for others.

Larry received his formal education in Missouri. Later, he enlisted in the United States Navy. Larry received many awards and medals and was honorably discharged.

Larry was a man after God's own heart; he loved the Lord more than life itself. After he was discharged from the Navy, Larry pursued and obtained his minister’s license, becoming an ordained minister.

In 1974, Larry met his best friend and lifetime partner, Connie Fletcher. On July 27, 1974, Larry and Connie were married. To this union, three children were born, Nicole, Monique, and Joshua. The family would share many loving and memorable moments together. Later, he was blessed with one grandchild, SaVaughn, whom he loved dearly.

He will always be remembered for his love for God, and his compassion for all. "He would not want us to grieve, but to be encouraged, knowing we will see him again. He would want us to be happy that he made it home to be with the Lord. There is no more suffering for him.

Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole D. Fletcher; and his parents, Reverend George T. Fletcher and Annie Mae Fletcher.

Reverend Larry J. Fletcher departed this life on December 14, 2018, in his home. His memory will be kept alive by his wife, Connie Fletcher; his children, Monique L. Fletcher, Joshua (Tiffany) Fletcher; grandchild, SaVaughn Crooks; brothers, Reverend Joseph (Joyce) Fletcher, Eddie B. (Gwen) Fletcher, George T. Fletcher, Jr.; his sisters, Ethel Fletcher, Renee Brown, Theda (Reverend Ronald) Williams, Freda Butler, Phyllis Fletcher, Helen (Earnest) Pogue; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
