Reverend William Rogers Malumbe was born in a family of ten, 4 sons and 6 daughters, William, Violet, Lydia, Rose, Elizabeth, Agnes, Victor, Charles, Baxton, Christabel, all born to the union of Rogers Malumbe and Jennifer Mbobo Malumbe in Nairobi, Kenya. William lost his dad at a young age, being the first born, he worked to pay his school fees and complete his high school education; while assisting his mother with the care of his younger siblings. After graduating from high school, William furthered his education by earning an Bachelor of Arts Degree and later his Master's Degree. When he relocated to the United States, he completed Biblical Study at Liberty University located in Lynchburg, Virginia, graduating on May 9, 2015. Education was extremely important to William and he often encouraged others to pursue academic excellence. William met a charming young lady named Melissa Ayuma Moses Namayi, while attending a sports competition and musical festival in Nairobi. The love between the couple was both immediate and exciting. Both families gave their blessings to them and they were married. Both were hard-working, enthusiastic, ambitious, and carried personalities that were warm and welcoming. Together, they helped financially support his mother and younger siblings, while pursuing their own education. To this union, seven children, 4 boys and 3 girls, were born. They even adopted a little girl, so now the family had 4 boys and 4 girls. Lylre, Ronnie, Collins, III, Anthony, Andrew, Moses, Debbie, Patricia and Nerea, were all a source of joy and happiness to William. His first priority was to give his children a good education. Melissa, fondly reflects, "I thank God for him." William was a man, with a big heart and took great pride in being the mentor that many young people needed. He is accredited with helping over one hundred and fifty children in Colorado with a better education and countless numbers in Kenya, with education and jobs. William was later blessed with fourteen grandchildren, whom he enjoyed and continued to encourage them to pursue academic excellence. By profession, Reverend Malumbe was employed as a Senior Accountant with the Ministry of Home Affairs in Kenya; East African Airways, the Regional Manager of Kenya Airways, working overseas and in other countries. Once he relocated to the United States, he accepted his Call to the Ministry and took various voluntary jobs. He volunteered at Calvary Temple Church, the Office of the Mayor, Volunteers of America, AARP, just to name a few. He took a position as GS4, with Group Solutions. He retired in October of 2013, due to health challenges. A man of faith and belief in the Lord, William accepted the Lord as his personal savior over forty six years ago. His favorite scriptures were, Psalm 23, John 15:7. Romans 8:28, Numbers 23:19, Isaiah 54:13&17. He even made a song out of two of his favorite scriptures, just to memorize them. He had a heart of Evangelism and Church Planting. For this reason; so many young people were led to Christ because of his ideology and Christian belief. Reverend Malumbe servved on a number of church boards, including Citam (NPC) Deliverance Church, in which he was a founding member and the Imani Restoration Center Church. He was a true prayer warrior and believed everyone needed to have the right relationship with the Lord by keeping His commandments. He set goals to minister and save villages. He had aspirations of establishing a Girls Christian Boarding School. He worked on this project with the Built On Rock Education Foundation, he was to establish an Orphanage with the help of the David Clixton Ministries in Colorado. Reverend William R. Malumbe became an Ordained Minister on July 4, 2015. He was a man who didn't stand the world on its head but made his presence felt. Reverend William R. Malumbe will be remembered as an anchor in the wind, a shelter in the storm, the light at day break and a warm gift from the morning sun. A long time fear has come. We lost a fellow traveler, a trusted friend, a loving dad, a great and loving husband, brother, advisor, pillar and "Kuka" (grandpa) Take your rest! We all loved you but God knows best! He is preceded in death by his father, Rogers Malumbe and his mother, Jennifer Mbobo Malumbe. To plant a seed in one's heart…to root it in love… To nourish it with time spent together… Yields a blossom that will flourish forever. Reverend William Rogers Malumbe departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on August 30, 206, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his loving and devoted wife, Melissa Malumbe; all his beautiful children; grandchildren; his very proud brothers and sisters; nephews, nieces, ministries, K-C-F-A Fellowship; Antioch Church of God and Pastor Samuel Mweng and the whole church family of Imani Restoration Center.
