Rev. Frazier

October 25, 1925 — January 3, 2013

Loving Memory The Late Great Pastor Emeritus of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church. Rev Robert Lee Frazier, Robert was born October 5. 1926, to John, and Luvenia Frazier in, Marion, Arkansas. Robert was the youngest of 11 brothers and sisters, a blended family of siblings', Alice, Blanch, Josie, Vaette, Lillie, Wadie, A. J., Aaron, Warren G, and John Wallace , all of which preceded him in death, Being the last, and youngest child, Robert did not have the pleasure of knowing his oldest siblings who had passed on earlier. However growing up in a family full of love, with five other siblings, nieces, and nephews, and at the tender age of 3 years old, he became the uncle, to nephews, and nieces, 10 plus years his senior. January 25 1945, Robert Lee Frazier, fresh out of the military was boarding a bus where he met Lessie Ree Pace, on her way home from work, he told her that her money was no good, and paid her fare. They became the best of friends and companions. On October 17 1949, Robert and Lessie were joined in holy matrimony, at the home of Lessie's parents, Otis and Leola Pace. In 1951 they moved from Camden, Arkansas to Denver, Colorado, where they stayed with his brother until they were able to secure their own home. At one time a slight disagreement arose between the two of them, his wife Lessie went upstairs and begin packing her clothes, Robert followed her and asked "where are you going"? she replied, "I'm leaving", with no hesitation Robert began to put his clothing in the very same suitcase, and said "if you are leaving so am I", after that, there was no more such talk of either of them leaving, recognizing that what God had joined together, no one could put asunder. Robert and Lessie remained married, and one month short of their 60th anniversary when death separated them, his loving wife, and a beloved mother, of five, departed September 15 2009. Since that day, Robert's only desire was to be reunited with his wife. And on January 3rd 2013, Robert and Lessie were reunited once again. Rev Robert Lee Frazier Sr. organized Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church in 1967, on the front porch of his home at 3357 Gaylord. It was a struggle, however by the grace of God Solid Rock is still alive, praising God to whom all glory, is due. In addition to organizing and Pastoring Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, Rev R. L. Frazier Sr. also was the Pastor, of The New Zion Baptist Church, in Laramie WY. as well as the Second Baptist Church, also in Laramie WY. Not only was Rev R. L. Frazier Sr. a Pastor and Preacher in God's service. Rev Frazier's first love and passion in the church, was that of an Usher, he had a special love for this specific office. Psalms 84:10 states "I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my GOD than to dwell in the tents of the wicked". Rev Frazier's ongoing theme for Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church was "Work While it is Day: The night cometh when no man can work". John 9:4. This theme was the driving force behind His Ministry and life, this also applied to the church as a whole. Robert was a devoted family man, regarding family as the main root of his being. He constantly searched for lost family members, desiring to have a complete knowledge of his family tree. That passion continued as Pastor of Solid Rock, which was a congregation, that consisted mainly of family, in time the church, grew by leaps and bounds, Robert was always in remembrance of his promise, made to his brother, Aaron Walker, as his dying wish was to make sure his children were involved in the church. Of the many memories cherished, Robert being a mechanical wizard, on one of many road trips to Detroit, MI. his trusted Buick Century broke down on the highway, with a pop of the hood, a bobby pin, and a little sleight of hand, we arrived safely to our destination and back, with no problems, declaring God is good. Our greatest memory was how by God's Grace and Mercy. He survived an explosion and fire, the story of that fire in 1956, sealed Robert Frazier's faith and is a testament to the Love of God, and how his grace and mercy was bestowed upon him, he was trapped inside a burning building with a wall of fire barring his way to survive, he had to put his complete trust in God. Dad said, the Lord told him "I'm going to let you know for all times that I AM GOD", and in His abounded grace lowered the wall of fire, and Dad walked through. He received 2nd and 3rd burns on his face, 3rd and 4th burns on both arms. (That provided his grandkids the soft, smooth, skin that they loved to feel). However there was one unexplained 2nd degree burn on the back of his left shoulder, the size of a golf ball, other than that there was not one single blemish on the rest of his torso. And just as the three Hebrew boys, His clothing was still intact no burns not even singed, miraculously - through an unburned nylon shirt, GOD revealed his awesome power, and from that day foreword Robert never questioned his calling. Rev. R. L. Frazier Sr. was a multi-faceted man, and his strongest attribute was that of being supportive, devoted, and protective of his family, and friends. He was also a starch disciplinarian, and we can all attest to that, sorrowfully remembering that brown leather belt, that lasted two generations, and because of its generous application, that belt divided itself in to three layers, one for the Father, one for the Son, and one for the Holy Ghost, as we did our worst, he did his best, in the art of correction. Being a P. K. (Preacher's Kid) we all had the pleasure, and were acquainted with all the Pastors, parent churches, members and Christian friends all over Denver, and the state of Colorado. Rev R. L. Frazier Sr. was proclaimed by his peers as a true friend to them whom were called to the one hardest profession in all the world, Preaching the gospel, of Jesus Christ (i.e.) The Good News. His grandchildren were among his greatest joy, and all around him knew that in him alone, was there greatest of all fans, on and off the basketball court. Beginning with his son, Robert Jr., his grandchildren, Tommy Jr., Darnell, Shana, Terrance, Robert Irwin, Kenyada, and Kerri, he became known as the Manual High School basketball team's grandpa, Jermaine Reed was his softball kid, while Sharna, Jerrica, and Juleo the youngest grandchildren also played basketball but at a time when their grandparents relocation to Detroit, although separated due to the relocation, they knew that in spirit that their grandpa, and grandma, were right by their side. At the onset of Rev. Frazier last two and a half months, during one of our visit's with him in the hospital, after he suffered a stroke he requested us, his children to sing "Jesus" (Oh how I love calling your name), and we did. His face was overwhelmed with joy, as was his attending nurse. He then asked us to sing the family song "Lord I Know You've Been So Good". He preached his last sermon two weeks prior to his departure, to the nursing staff and residence, while at the Colorado. State Veterans Nursing Home. The nursing staff stated that they "enjoyed his vocal renditions, and his spiritual presence. Rev R. L. Frazier will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, friend to all he encountered. To his Grandchildren, he is remembered as a Head Coach, who kept up with their stats and records. A fisherman, that bought home the bacon. He will be sorely missed, by all who ever meet him, knew him, and loved him. He leaves behind, to cherish his loving memory, five children, Tommy (Carol) Pace, Denver, Shirley Ann Frazier, Aurora, Marry Alice (Luther) Reed, Denver, Janet Louise Frazier, Aurora, and Rev. Robert Lee Frazier Jr., Aurora; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, along with an abundant number of grand and great-grand nieces, nephews. Praise the Lord for he is Worthy to Be Praised!!
