Reverend Robert Earl Catholic was born on June 26, 1938, in Wilson, Arkansas to his parents Mattie Pearl Miller and Ephriam Catholic. He was the third child born in this family along with his brothers JC Fowler, William Earl Catholic, his sisters Minnie Mae Logan and Henrietta Cage. Even as a child he had a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence in the work he produced. He was educated in Wilson, Arkansas public schools. He left Wilson, Arkansas at an early age and moved to Benton Harbor, Michigan. Later, he moved back home for a while then moved to Wichita, Kansas where he met Alma Metcalfe. Once married, they moved to Denver, Colorado in 1968. They joined Shiloh Baptist Church, Pastor W.C. Jones, presiding, where he faithfully served as a deacon. Later they joined Bethlehem Baptist Church where Rev. Catholic was called into the ministry in 1982 and remained faithful until his departure. He loved God, the church and took every opportunity he had to tell people about his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Rev. Catholic was a faithful, hard-working man of God who loved his wife and took care of his family. There are no words to express how wonderful he was as a husband, father, grandfather and great-grand father. He lead by example, walked in humility and walked in the path of righteousness. He retired from Americom Direct Marketing. He cherished spending time with his lovely wife and family. Above all, he was diligent in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ because he wholeheartedly loved the Lord. He spent many days passing out the Sunday morning church programs to anyone who would stop and listen. He dedicated time to studying God's Word, stayed on his knees before the Lord in prayer and would lead any willing soul to God. His bible was his life. He had many friends, too many to name. He will best be remembered for his meek and humble spirit and his unconditional love. Rev. Robert Catholic went home to be with the Lord, July 8, 2014, in his Denver home.
