Rene Wells Ii

August 24, 1982 — October 1, 2016

Rene R. Wells, II, was born on August 24, 1982, to his parents, Rene R. Wells, Sr. and Debra Blanton. From the moment he was born, Rene lit up the room in a big way. He was quick, into everything, and always on the go. In the presence of his mother, he was still, quiet and replied always with a kind "yes ma'am". He often expressed his admiration and the respect he had for her. Their bond was an unbreakable and unchangeable one. When his father was present, he would appear as a soldier, quiet, still, awaiting instructions. Rene was blessed with a special gift at the age of 9. It appeared in the form of a little sister that was named, Destini. The bond between the two of them was forged the minute, he cut her umbilical cord. They were inseparable, the unconditional love they had for one another was expressed in their support and protection of each other, and more importantly, in the laughter that seemed to follow them everywhere they went. Everything Rene did, he did it big, including his love for his family. He touched so many people in some shape, way, or form. Rene's teenage years were fraught with difficulties. He learned that the choices he made came with consequences that were life changing. Despite it all, Rene matured and became a better man. One of the greatest chapters in life came with the birth of his only daughter, Jayla Anne Wells. His daughter was the love of his life. When they were together, you could see on their faces the love they had for each other. When you looked at the photos they took, it was vividly expressed. The moments they shared were few but precious. Rene later met and committed himself to Cecilia Gaeta. To this union, they were blessed with a son, Jionni Ahnest Wells. As a family, Rene and Cecilia did what they could for each other which allowed their relationship to blossom and their love to grow. Rene treasured the opportunity to love his two nephews, DJ and Darrian. He and DJ had a closeness that was a joy to witness. DJ was always excited to see "Uncle Rene" and would mimic everything he did and call him "Bro." When Rene entered the room, he took it over. His loud booming voice, jokes, beautiful smile and laughter were inescapable. Rene has always been the same big spirited little boy, wanting to not only make you love him, but to conquer the world the only way he knew how. His big personality and his big capacity to love, will leave a big hole in all of our hearts that can never be filled. Rene is preceded in death by his son, Jionni Ahnest Wells; and grandfather and friend, Lester Blanton. On October 1, 2016, Rene was tragically taken away from us. We will miss you, Mista AKA Burt Bizzle AKA FAST LANE! "Rest easy Fast Lane."
