Rendel Alan Jones was born on October 17, 1959, in Pueblo, Colorado to his parents, Theodore Y. Jones and Bernice R. Woodson Jones. He was the first born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, David, Timothy and his sister, Jennifer. Growing up, Rendel enjoyed hanging out with his friends and playing sports. A fond memory was that of Rendel and his dad playing ball together. He was an excellent basketball player and he took great pride in making sure his, Chuck Taylor Converse High Tops were bright white and his, Dr. J Style Afro was styled perfectly. Rendel received his formal education in Denver where he graduated from George Washington High School in 1978. He furthered his education by attending the Community College of Aurora. Rendell was the proud father of one son, who was given the name, Rendel D. Jones. They shared many happy and precious moments together. By profession, Rendel was employed in retail sales. He was employed by Sherwin Williams Paints. His co-workers remember his hard work and dedication. He was dependable and performed his duties with a spirit of excellence. Rendel was a fun loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed watching basketball and following professional sports. He was a man who never met a stranger and was friend to many. He truly enjoyed the quality time shared with family and friends. Rendel had a big heart and loved his friends and family. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man. To know Rendel was to love him. He is preceded in death by a sister, Jennifer A. Smith and grandparents, Martha J. Jones and Evelyn Woodson. Rendel Alan Jones departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on June 13, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Rendel D. Jones of Seattle, Washington; his parents, Theodore Y. Jones of San Diego, California and Bernice R. Hammond of Denver, Colorado; two brothers, David M. (Mary) Jones-Farad and Timothy Y. Jones-Farad all of Denver, Colorado; his aunt, Ann E. Batey of Pueblo, Colorado, a host of nieces, nephews, other aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
