Regina Corine Owens was born on April 30, 1953, in Aurora, Colorado to her parents, Rueben Franklin Tate and Emma Jean Biglow. She was the second child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brother, Reginald, Michael, Rodney and Barbara. As a child, she loved cooking but was strong and independent. Her siblings remember her helping her mother take care of them and driving them to see scary movies. Regina received her formal education in Denver where she was a 1972, graduate of East High School. She furthered her education by attending Emily Griffith School and completing courses in Dietary Nutrition. Regina united in holy matrimony to Lonnie Allen, Jr. in 1975, in Denver, Colorado. They enjoyed traveling to his home of Marlin, Texas. To this union, Lonnie, III and Tina were born. In 1982, she wed Kevin Trimble in Denver. With this union, she became the step mother of Chanell. The family enjoyed going to the movies, bowling and sharing with family and friends. Regina was later blessed with thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren who were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They lovingly called her "grandma or GG." They fondly remember her buying candy during visits to Wal-Mart, her cooking the best fried chicken, her knitting blankets and the many talks while sitting on the front porch. By profession, Regina was a Food Service Supervisor and Dietary Nutritionist. She was employed for a number of years at the Holly Heights Nursing Home in Denver. She was hardworking, dedicated and worked well with her fellow staff members and was patient and understanding when conversing with the nursing home patrons. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Regina was a member of New Testament Church (Holiness). She joined the church under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Lee Harris. She truly enjoyed the wisdom and knowledge gained as she studied the word of God and fellowshipping with her church family. Regina was a fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she was an avid Denver Bronco fan and loved sitting on the porch and watching the neighborhood. She will be remembered as being loving, caring and a person who didn't mind lending a helping hand to others. To know Regina was to love her.
