Raymond Jamal Waller was born on March 12, 1990, in Aurora, Colorado to his parents, Jeffery B. Waller and Angela Maria Austin Waller. He was the fourth child born in the family. He has one brother, Marcus and two sisters, Lynn and Kimberly. As a child, Ray loved eating shrimp as a snack. He was known to be a picky eater. He enjoyed fishing with his father and older brother. Ray received his formal education in Denver. He enjoyed going to school and received "Perfect Attendance" while in elementary school. In high school, that was a whole different story. His dad was always at the school trying to find out, "where was he." Ray was very athletic while in school and was given a number of awards playing football with the Aurora Youth League. He graduated from Aurora Central High School in 2008, and furthered his education by attending Mesa State University in Grand Junction, Colorado. Ray was the proud father of a beautiful daughter named, Serenity Akaryiah Mariee Waller. He was a doting father whose pride and joy was the care and nurture of his daughter. He loved the special and tender moments they shared together. They would sing together, laugh together and the love between the two was unconditional. Ray would gladly proudly proclaim, "Serenity was my life and we are as one." Ray was employed by United Parcel Service (UPS) as a Package Handler. He is remembered as being hard-working, dedicated and performing all his assigned duties with a spirit of excellence. He worked well with his fellow co-workers and was respected by his supervisors. Ray was a fun-loving man, who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he continued to love fishing, family camping trips, eating junk food and hanging out with his daughter. His closest friends, Melvin Chisholm, Dantjer Gordon, who worked together at UPS, Jamar Dotson, Tahjae Rosemond, Anthony Simms will miss the camaraderie's they all shared together and the fact that he was a true and trusted friend. He shared a special closeness with his father. They shared countless hours on the telephone and Ray was his father's BFF. They loved fishing together and having a $1.00 bet for who caught the biggest fish and the first fish. Ray was a man who didn't mind lending a helping hand to others whether it was providing food, shelter or just lending a listening ear. Ray will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man, who carried a jovial personality, enjoyed making others laugh and always ready for a good time. To know Ray was to love him. Raymond Jamal Waller departed this life on August 14, 2015, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his daughter, Serenity A.M.
