Raymond Elliott

June 28, 1955 — March 10, 2017

Raymond Bernard Elliott was born on June 28, 1955, in Farmington, New Mexico to his parents, Dallas Elliott and Mozell Phillips Elliott. He was the third child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Lendell, Durand, and his sisters, Debbie, Sharon, LaGail, Sandra, and Noreen. He received his formal education in Farmington, where he graduated from Farmington High School. Raymond enlisted in the United States Army on July 28, 1972. While serving his country, he was awarded an M-16 Rifle Ribbon and he earned an award for the M-29 Rifle. He served with honor and distinction and was honorably discharged. On May 10, 1980, Raymond united in holy matrimony to Jessie Marshbank. They exchanged vows at the home of her parents in Denver, Colorado. To this union, two children were born, Trina and Raymond, Jr. Raymond was a loving and caring husband and father. Trina fondly remembers her father as always giving her good and sound advice. She was most proud of her father for teaching and showing her how a man should treat his wife and love his family. He was an excellent cook and made the most delicious banana pudding and barbeque you ever had. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie and son, Raymond, Jr. He was later blessed with five grandchildren, Kataya, Billy, DeShawn, Bobby Jr. and Montaye, who all were and additional source of joy and pride in his life. They too loved his cooking and he watching movies with them. They also knew his love for them was unconditional and fondly remember his smile and laugh. By profession, Raymond was an Anesthesiologist Technician for St. Joseph Hospital. He was hard-working, dedicated, and performed his duties with a spirit of excellence. He had an outgoing personality and worked well with co-workers and other medical staff members. Raymond was a fun-loving man, who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, visiting the "Hills", and watching sports. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man who never met a stranger. To know Raymond was to love him. Raymond Bernard Elliott departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on March 10, 2017, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his daughter, Trina R. Elliott of Denver; 2 brothers, Lendell (Kayla) Jones and Durand Elliott; 5 sisters, Debbie (Dale) Lockett, Sharon (Ed) Lucero, LaGail (Thomas) Rollison, Sandra Elliott and Noreen Elliott; 5 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
