Raymond Eugene Brown passed away peacefully on November 11th after a short illness. He was born in a small town in northwestern Alabama but lived in Denver, Colorado for well over 50 years. Ray graduated from Manual High School in 1967. He worked as a bus driver for RTD for many years, and spent his last years doing his favorite things: traveling, bowling, and spending time with his family.
Ray participated in many sports--from bowling and softball leagues, to pickup basketball--throughout his life, and his easy smile and penchant for jokes and laughter made him many friends over the years. Everyone who knew him has a story about his generosity, and he was always loyal to his friends and family, helping in any way he could.
From laughing at cartoons with his daughters, to taking care of his mother, or sharing a meal with longtime buddies, Ray's life was full of people, pride, and hard work. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Edward Brown, two half-brothers, and his father, Joseph Brown. Ray's surviving family includes two daughters, Kalisha Cornett (Robert) and Jennifer Brown (Reggie), from his 16 year marriage to Janet Brown, his mother, Ernestine Evans, a grandson, and several half siblings.
