Rachelle Regina Mosley was born on October 4, 1962, in Denver, Colorado to her parents, Sammy Lee Johnson and Sadie Mae Futrell Johnson. She was the first born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Stephen, Tyrone and her sister, Simone. As a child, she would always be the Teacher when they all played school. She is remembered as having a pet bird, hamster and rabbit. This continued until allergies disallowed her from having pets. She then turned her attention to the neighborhood children. She would gather them and take all of them swimming. Rachelle received her formal education in Denver, where she attended Manuel High School. She later obtained her GED and furthered her education by attending the Community College of Denver earning her certification in Childhood Education. In June of 1985, Rachelle wed Steven H. Mosley. They exchanged vows at the Cleaves Memorial CME Church in Denver. To this union, Steven, Jr. and Darris were born. She was later blessed with five grandchildren, Ilana, Steven, Darris, Neveah and Sadie. They lovingly called her "grandma" and fondly remember all the happy and precious moments they shared together. By profession, Rachelle was employed by the Housing Authorities as a Teacher at the Decatur Place Learning Center. She later started working as a CNA in the Health Field. Wherever employed, Rachelle was hardworking, dependable and performed her duties with a spirit of excellence. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Rachelle rededicated her life to God serving her church and the Lord under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Vashon Mason as she was a member of the Abundance Grace Christian Center. She truly enjoyed the fellowship shared with her church family. She was a member of the Hospitality Ministry in the church. She believed in the power of prayer and that everyone needed to have the right relationship with the Lord. Rachelle was a fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. Her closest friend, LaSandra "Queeny" Brown, have been friends since they were very young. She will miss the comraderies they shared together and the fact that she was a true and trusted friend. Rachelle would always talk and laugh with her favorite cousin, LaHonda "Sherry" Atkins. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful lady. To know Rachelle was to love her.
