Quincy Jones

February 24, 1982 — December 21, 2016

Quincy Decoven Nunn-Jones, Sr. was born in Thornton, Colorado on February 24, 1982, to parents his Robert Jones and Molicia Jones. He was the first of two children born to this union. He had one little sister, Deliaha. His sister remembers Quincy as a child, loving to carry around his favorite pillow; he loved his pillow so much that all of the pillows stuffing fell out, and he would carry around the pillow case. She also remembered him getting in trouble with his mother, and he would grab his pillow case put on his favorite pair of cowboy boots and a coat, and he would wait by the front door and say, "I'm waiting for my grandmother to come get me." While in his youth, Quincy loved to play basketball, video games, and playing in the trees. Quincy attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver. During his senior year, Quincy became the proud father of his first child, Dorian Jones. Quincy began to work and do what he needed to do to take care of his child. Dorian remembers his father being loving and fun to be around. They would play video games together, and he also remembers the times they went to the water park in South Dakota. In 2007, Quincy experienced the loss of his mother and his whole world was turned upside down. He tried his hardest to be strong for his family because he loved her with all of his heart; he loved and missed her every day. Quincy met Cassondra "Cassie" Tucker on Facebook through his family. At that time, he was 29 years old. They loved to do everything together. After dating for about a month, they were both in a car accident. Going through physical therapy and a law suit together brought them very close. After about a year of dating they moved in to their first apartment together. Having their ups and downs, they never let issues define their relationship. Family was always the most important thing to both of them. On March 6, 2011, Quincy took Cassie to be is wife. After a few years of marriage, the two gave birth to their son, Quincy Nunn-Jones, Jr. just 3 days before their fifth year wedding anniversary. Quincy was on cloud nine since the two thought it would be a long time before they could have children. Although Quincy passed early in his son's life, he loved every minute he spent with his son. Calling him, "Daddy's Big Boy". He was very well-known to his customers; always being patient, helpful, and greeting everyone with a smile. He worked at Pioneer Hills for about 7 months. Prior to that, he worked at UPS for about a year. No matter where he worked he was loved. As time went by, Quincy loved to work and travel with his Uncle Billy. They worked construction together and traveled together as well. The two were very close. By profession, Quincy worked as a Sales Associate for the Pioneer Hills Liquor Store. No matter what Quincy was always with family. That was the most important thing to him. Quincy had two best friends, Robert "Busta" Sharp and best friend /cousin, Marsean Ivory. They loved to play video games and causing trouble together. He will always be missed and loved. Quincy was preceded in death by his mother, Molicia Jones. Sadly, Quincy Decoven Nunn-Jones, Sr. passed away on December 21, 2016, at University Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. He was surrounded by family and love. He is survived by his wife, Cassie Tucker; his two beautiful sons, Dorian Jones and Quincy Nunn-Jones, Jr; his father and step mother Robert and Anneta Jones; his little sister, Deliaha Nunn; his nieces, Khalilah Sharp and Mizheeauna Sharp; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
