Priscilla Ann was born on December 8th 1956 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Tommy Rendus., and Hallie Pearl Hamilton. She was the second child born to this union. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Rendus, Michael, and her sisters, Tommie Jean and Vickie. While growing up, she enjoyed spending time with her sisters, brothers and cousins. She received her early education in Indianapolis, where she attended school number 32 and 44. Syl as she was profoundly nicknamed loved playing outdoors, where she was good at jumping rope, dancing and skating. At the age of 8 her family relocated to Denver, CO. Confessing her faith in Jesus at Zion Temple, under the late Bishop Roland Martin. Syl continued on in her early years at Gilpin Elementary and Columbine Elementary where she was a very vocal and outgoing student. She was the first child in our family to transition to an integrated school system. In which she was bused to Kunsmiller Middle School. This is where she faced a lot of challenges. In spite of the barriers she was able to overcome them and made it thru. She went on to attend George Washington High School as well as Metro State College. On February 22nd 1974 she gave birth to her and John’s first child Jabali Oliver. Three years later they received their second bundle of joy on March 31st 1977 Johnnie Oliver which she calls Precious. While Priscilla only birthed 2 children naturally she was a mother and grandmother to many. Motherhood was her greatest joy. She was the type of mom that made sure that every child she encountered knew that she loved them and they could always call on her if need be. In September of 1985 while visiting friends and family in Los Angeles Priscilla met the love of her life Cornelia Pinson. Less than a year later she packed up her family and moved to Los Angeles. Shortly after getting settled she began the journey of entrepreneurship she started several businesses ranging from personal shopper, to interior designer, to financial counselor /planner, and tax preparer. Priscilla always strived to be the best. Believing that nothing was impossible to achieve. Later in life she made a decision to further her education returning to school to become a Dental Hygienist. Always helping everyone the sick, the shut in, and even the homeless. Her home was always open just like her mom Hallie Pearl. She never met a stranger. Everyone who ever encountered her became her friend, even if at times she could be very bossy. You would fall out to fall back in again with her. Talk about outspoken that was her, she wouldn’t hold back. If she had something to say, it just poured and then you would end up laughing or crying, but still in love with her. We called her our Queen Diva always dressed to the max from head to toe. Syl always looked like she was going to see the King. Faithful in her beliefs as a child of God, never wavering. Syl never dranked or smoked. Nor did she hold back on anyone who did. Letting you know it wasn’t necessary for you to do that to yourself. She would give you the shoes off her feet or the clothes off her back if you needed them. Her great nieces and nephews thought she was rich because she always had something for them. Her final days were spent surprising her granddaughter with a car. Syl and her daughter Johnnie (Precious) drove it all the way from L.A. to Denver. Mehki was away in college in Montana. They were planning on driving it up to Montana. God had other plans he brought her home closer to family and loved ones so he could take her home. Early Wednesday morning he called her home, to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord. A great cloud of witnesses ushered her into the presence of the Lord; we are going to miss you. Priscilla is proceeded in death by her beloved mother, Hallie Pearl Hamilton, brother, Rendus Hamilton, numerous aunts and uncles, a niece and two nephews.
