Phillip Falls III was born on December 11th 1964 in New Orleans, Louisiana to his parents, Sylvia and Phillip Falls Jr. He was the third child born to this union and was raised with his siblings, Margie, Darnell, Cary and Shirlyn Falls. As a child, Phillip grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana where attended Marie C. Couvent Elementary School and Andrew J. Bell Middle School. Phillip accepted Christ at a very young age and sang in the Genesis Missionary Baptist Church Choir in New Orleans alongside his siblings. Phillips family resided in New Orleans until 1979. They later decided to pursue further opportunities by moving to Denver, Colorado as a family.
As he pursued his education in Colorado, he would develop a relationship with his closest friends AKA “The BOYZ”. Phillip attended Hill Middle School and George Washington High School in Denver, Colorado. He was a stellar athlete who played Phillip basketball for the George Washington Patriots where he helped them to become an elite basketball team. Outside of school, Phillip was very well known. He loved everyone and had a gentle spirit. Phillip had a great sense of humor and kept everyone around him smiling and laughing. He was amazing and everyone knew this.
Phillip was the proud father of 3 sons, Jamie Dewayne Singleton, Lavon Darren Howard and Marshawn Lynel Loyd. He was a father figure to all of his nieces and nephews who called him uncle “Papa” and had a special relationship with his nephew, Jehrone Falls. Jehrone always looked out for him and was there any time he needed him. Phillip was also close to his nephew, Eugene Russell Jr.
Phillip’s favorite saying was “SAY 4 LIFE”. He lived with his whole heart and soul, and that Love will be forever felt and never forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his father, Phillip Falls Jr; his grandparents, Ethel and Calvin Kerns Sr. and Margie and Phillip Falls Sr; sisters, Margie Falls Collins and Darnell Falls Pembrook; his aunt, Virgin Kerns; his uncle, Calvin Kerns Jr., 2 nieces, Sascha Falls and Tamarah Pembrook; and nephews, Tyre Falls, Herman Pembrook Jr., and Cary Hughes; and his cousin, Carlene Coleman.
He joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 27, 2022. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Sylvia Falls; his sons, Jamie Singleton, Lavon Howard, and Marshawn Loyd; his younger brother, Cary falls; his baby sister, Shirlyn Darby; his granddaughters, Vajaya Singleton and Amajiah Singleton; his nieces, Keisha Watkins, Pamela Watkins, Charmaine Falls, Samaria Russell; his nephews, Cory Pembrook, Kevin Watkins, Eugene Russell Jr., Jehrone Falls, and Layron Taylor, and a host of other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
