Paul Jacobs

June 1, 1968 — October 20, 2015

Paul Sumbi Jacobs was born on June 1, 1968, in Pasadena, California to his parents, Bob Jacobs and Blanchie M. Stone Jacobs. He was the first born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Kantee, Joseph, Michael and his sisters, Deba, Koffa, Joaka, and April. Growing up, Paul was a curious and mischievous child. After spending time thinking about something, he eventually would do what he was not supposed to do. A fond memory of Paul was when he was 15 years old, he worked and saved his money to take a trip to New York City just to see a Broadway play. The trip was indelibly imprinted in his heart & mind and thus started his love of Theater. Paul received his formal education by graduating from Marshall Fundamental High School in Pasadena, California. He furthered his education by attending Pasadena City College. By profession, Paul was employed by Sprint Communications as a Customer Service Representative. He is remembered as being hard-working, dedicated and a joy to work around. He was respected by his co-workers and management team. He was equally as hard working in Theater. At San Gabriel Mission Playhouse, he is remembered as working with zest, zeal and professionalism. When backstage, he made sure the performance went on without a hitch. A man of faith and belief in the Lord, Paul was an active member of the New Testament Christian Church in Aurora, Colorado. He served the church under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Joey Perez. He truly enjoyed the fellowship shared with his church family. He believed in the power of Prayer and that everyone should have the right relationship with the Lord. Paul was a fun loving man, who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, watching Anime, keeping up with new technology and spending quality time with family and friends. He was a person who never met a stranger and didn't mind lending a helping hand to others. He also loved hosting barbeques and ensuring everyone had a good time. His closest friends, Glenn Jones and Maya Franciscus will miss the camaraderie they all shared together as friends and the fact that he was a true and trusted friend. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known the kind, generous, playful and friendly man. To know Paul was to love him. Paul S. Jacobs departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on October 20, 2015, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his mother, Blanchie M. Jacobs of Aurora; 3 brothers, Kantee W. Jacobs of Solodad, CA, Joseph N. Jacobs of Hanford, CA and Michael W. Jacobs of Aurora, CO, 4 sisters, Deba N.
