Evangelist Patricia Ann Fontenot
As beautiful as a rose to see, was her life she lived so gracefully. She made things precious by her touch; her selfless love lives on in each of us. The petals of her life fell one by one; each a gift of her heart till there were none. Yet her radiance blooms once again in fields of glory with no end.
Patricia Ann Fontenot was born in Denver, Colorado on November 2, 1955, to her loving parents, Superintendent Emeritus Pastor Leon H. Kelly Sr. and Supervisor Emeritus Jessie Allean Kelly. She was the fourth out of six children born to this union three brothers, Leon, Alphonso, Kenneth and two sisters Alice and Ruth. As a child, Patricia loved to be the center of attention, many were very fond of her!
Patricia graduated from South High School in 1973. She furthered her education at University in Boulder, Colorado in which she received her Bachelors degree in Fine Arts Education. She was a social worker with Denver Human Services. Shortly after she met a young man named Don Fontenot and married in 1977 and had a beautiful baby girl named Clorissa A. Fontenot. Clorissa was honestly her most prized possession, and the brightest light in her life. They were two peas in a pod! She later was blessed with three grandchildren that she loved spending time with and who were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They all shared precious moment together.
Patricia had a tremendous love for the lord. she was a child of a Pastor and Church Mother where she attended her father's Church, Maranatha Church of God in Christ in Denver, Colorado. She loved singing the gospel and tapping the tambourine, but the tunes of Deacon Doug made her tap that tambourine even harder! It was always a blessing to hear her testimony, despite of her challenges she steadfast in her faith in the Lord which kept her grounded. She loved church activities and fellowshipping with her church family and was happy to experience each day.
In her free time, she enjoyed painting and drawing, swimming, sewing, and spending time with her family, she especially love, love, love joking around with her oldest brother June, and hanging with her sister, Ruth. Patricia made beautiful garments; she was truly a fashionista! She had the most infectious laugh and smile that brightened the whole room. She was a wise lady, and a loving mother who enjoyed the time she shared with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Superintendent Emeritus Pastor Leon H. Kelly Sr. and Supervisor Emeritus Jessie A. Kelly; nephew Clarence Westely Blaine Jr.; and great nephew, Leonartist Barack Eledia Kashaka.
Patricia Ann Fontenot departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on January 19, 2021, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Clorissa A. Fontenot (Louis); her five siblings, Alice Marie Mithell, Ruth Mae ( Imani) Kashaka, Elder Leon H. ( Kim) Kelly Jr., Kenneth Ray Kelly Sr., and Alphonso Omega ( Debbie) Kelly Sr.; her grandchildren, Kirsten, Olivia and Kacie; nieces, Yvonne, Simonique, Stephanie, Alexandria, Wala and Day; nephews, Theo, Kenyatta, Omari, Gyasi, Ricky, Goeffrey, Bobby, Kenneth Jr., Alphonso Jr., Edryse, and Jacob; great nieces and nephews, Deja, Tavonne, Takiya, Matthew, Enjoli, McKenzie, Khairah, Kimani, Andrea, Alanie, Akashi, and host of cousins, and other relatives. Church family and many other friends
