Paralee Conner

August 28, 1932 — February 23, 2015

Paralee Conner was born on August 28, 1932, in Denver, Colorado to her parents, Joe Brown and Nettie Carter Brown. She was the second child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her sisters, Mary, Katherine and Eleanor. Paralee experienced the loss of one brother Raymond Conner just after his birth; however, she gained a half-brother, Joe, later. She received her formal education by attending the Denver Public Schools. On October 22, 1955, Paralee united in holy matrimony to Alvan E. Conner in Raton, New Mexico. To this union Kelvin, Gloria, Josephine, Renee and Tracy were born. She was also blessed with a step-son, Anthony Conner. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother whose pride and joy was the care and nurture of her family. They fondly remember her sewing and making crafts. They also remember her as a being strong, caring woman who had a heart of gold and who loved the Lord. Paralee was later blessed with ten grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren who all were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. The lovingly called her "Nana, Grandma Pie or Pie." They remember all the precious and happy moments they shared together. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Paralee accepted the Lord as her personal savior at a very early age. She became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She truly believed in the power of prayer and having the right relationship with the Lord. Paralee was a fun-loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to music, quilting, sewing, crossword puzzles and watching Disney Movies. She loved animals and watching baseball. She was an avid Denver Bronco fan and never wanted anyone to say anything negative about her hometown team. She was the type of woman who didn't mind opening her home to those in need. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful lady who leaves a void that can be never filled and a legacy full of joy and happiness. To know Paralee was to love her. She is preceded in death by a son, Kelvin E. Conner; her step son, Anthony E. Conner; her parents, Joe and Nettie Brown; and all her siblings, Raymond Brown, Joe Thompson, Mary Ellen Dawson-Townsend, Katherine J. Davis and Eleanor Noseworthy. Paralee Conner departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on February 23, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss are 4 daughters, Gloria J.
