Opal Randon

February 20, 1933 — August 5, 2017

Hold up! wait a minute...we have a special announcement from Opal Mae Randon She would like to inform all living creatures that her work here on earth was officially done as of August 5, 2017; she received a message in the wind requesting her presence immediately in a place she believed in and she could not refuse the Lord’s call! She has accepted a new work. This work comes with boundless benefits and blessings. Opal Mae Randon was born, Opal Mae Harris, on February 20, 1933, in Leonard, Texas to her parents, Fincher and Alberta Harris. She had two older brothers, Willie and Fincher Harris, Jr. As a young child, she worked in cotton fields to help support her family. Upon the completion of high school, at Mobile County Training School in Mobile, Alabama. Opal accepted Lord Jesus Christ as a child, and was a loyal and faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Opal followed her cousin to the Rocky Mountain State of Colorado. Shortly after moving to Colorado, Opal met and married her first husband, John Morris, together they had four children. She later married her second husband, Elwood Randon and had four additional children. As a devoted wife and mother, after the death of her second husband, Opal raised four children and never married again. Family was an important and deep joy for Opal. She not only cared for her own children but also provided exceptional love to her many grand, great-grand, and great-great grandchildren, who referred to her as “Granny.” Opal possessed a spirit of benevolence; her love extended beyond her own family. It was not uncommon for extended family members, neighbors, or even strangers to seek her direction and inspiration. Opal opened up her home and her heart touching the lives of many individuals. In her home, you would find Opal on the telephone talking to friends, cooking, sewing, or watching the Denver Broncos. As an avid Bronco fan, she would shout and stomp on the floor boldly “shaking the ground” as she cheered her favorite team to victory. Opal loved to laugh and enjoyed the laughter of others. While here on Earth, she always had Jesus in her heart and now she can remain connected to his presence. At his side, she will continue to do what she has always done best, she will reach out and touch the lives of people through her wonderful and loving spirit, she will offer every person unconditional love, patience, loyalty, laughter, and a great meal! We suspect Opal will continue to share her many talents such as being a culinary expert; she specialized in perfecting many great dishes and we know with certainty that her sweet potato pie will be a great hit! Opal was preceded in death by her spouses, John A. Morris and Elwood Randon; her parents, Fincher and Alberta Harris; and brothers, Willie Harris and Fincher Harris Jr. We all loved her but never the same as the love of God. Left to cherish her memory are her eight children, Charlotte Harris (Denver, CO), Phillip Morris (Denver, CO), Elaine Morris (Denver, CO), Clyde Morris (Denver, CO), Kenneth Randon (Denver, CO), Anthony Randon (Denve host of other rela r, CO), Edward Randon (Denver, CO), and Rody Randon (Phoenix, AZ) and a tives and friends.
