Ohara Antonio Johnson was born November 20th, 1953, in St. Petersburg, Florida to his parents, Maggie Mae Walker-Johnson and Matthew Johnson. Ohara grew up with his brothers, Rondy and Genepolis and sisters, Betty, Wisteria, Lenora, Sygener, and Sonja. Ohara loved playing sports, but his favorite was basketball. He was very protective of his siblings (VERY PROTECTIVE). As with any Denver native, he LOVED his Denver Broncos and Nuggets.
Ohara matriculated in through the Colorado Springs public school system, graduating from Palmer High School. Ohara enlisted in the United States Navy in 1973 and proudly served his country until being honorably discharged in 1977. He received the National Defense Service Medal Battle ‘E’ of the same year. He furthered his education while attending Pikes Peak Community College and Colorado State University where he earned a Bachelor of Art Degree in History.
By profession, Ohara was a “Jack of all Trades”. He was always willing to lend a hand and help anyone who asked. When he wasn’t working, you could find him watching classic basketball games with Fatty Taylor, his all-time favorite player. Ohara was a kind soul with a loving spirit.
He will be missed by those fortunate enough to be in his presence.
