Octavius Brown

August 7, 1999 — October 22, 2018

Octavius Keshawn Lee Brown was the second born son out of six boys. Born to the union of Brandon Lee Brown and Crystal Nicole Roberts (Perkins) on August 7, 1999, in Denver, Colorado. He was raised with his five brothers, Quay Shawn Perkins, D'ovion Perkins, Derrick Hudson, Jr., Tony Anderson, II, and Essien Anderson. As a child, Octavius was shy,

outgoing, goofy, and a down to earth kid. He did not talk much and always walked around with a smile. With him being shy, he was always mistaken for begin nonsocial, but once a person would get to know him, he showed you nothing but love!

A memory of his childhood was always playing with his brothers and cousins, roughhousing and play fighting, running around the neighborhood finding something to get into, riding bikes, going to the recreation center, and playing at his Auntie Mikki's house. In addition, he loved watching the Disney Channel, his favorite show was "Zach and Cody."

Octavius Brown attended the Denver Public School District and graduated from Manual High School on January 11, 2017, with honors. It was one of most memorable moments of his life, like so many other young men his age, he had big plans after graduating high school. He wanted to go to college and further his education. Denver University was his choice. Nevertheless, unfortunately, his goal was cut short.

Octavius was employed at McDonald’s, in Durango, Colorado. He was a hardworking, highly motivated and totally dedicated worker when it came to employment. He worked to be the "flyest" dude in his age bracket. Working taught him to appreciate the things in life that you work for. Octavius learned from a single mother these astounding traits and he cherished them.

In Octavius' leisure time, he enjoyed playing video games, hooping (playing basketball), hanging with his grandma, and brothers playing and watching football. He also LOVED listening to music. He will always be remembered for his smile, his goofiness, the shyness in him, and the strong confidence and determination he had within himself.

Octavius Keshawn Lee Brown passed away on October 22, 2018, at Denver Health and Hospitals in Denver, Colorado. He is survived by his mother, Crystal Roberts; his father, Brandon Brown; seven brothers, Quay Shawn Perkins, D'ovion Perkins, Derrick Hudson, Jr., Tony Anderson, II, Essien Anderson, Brandon Izear Brown, Keenan Rashad Brown; his grandmothers, Tina Perkins and Deatera Brown; his grandfather, Leon Simmons; three aunts, Casandra Perkins Brown; Brenda Perkins; Trina Myres; three uncles; Christopher Perkins, Vernon Drake, Dewain Brown; and plenty of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

"Octavius was a shy, outgoing very cool and collected. He loved to smile and shake his dreads and dress. Tavi, would always say how much he was addicted to finessen (lol). "Tavi" was sho a grannie's baby, he loved his grannie, you could not tell him nothing about her, that was his grannie. His brothers were his world. "One thing Mom made sure is that she kept us close and we stuck by just that." His favorite thing to tell me was, "Mom, I gotcha!" No, matter what I ask him to do. He will always be remembered as the CALM COOL COLLECTIVE & ADDICTED TO FINESSING!!"
