Nina Hayes

July 24, 1953 — March 27, 2015

Nina Hayes began life on July 24, 1953 in Decatur, Illinois when she blessed her parents A.D. McFarland and Minnie Lee Hempstead McFarland with her birth. She was the sixth of seven children born to this union. At a young age, Nina and her family moved to Denver, Colorado where she received her formal education, graduating from Manual High School. Nina met Marvin Wayne Hayes and the two were united in marriage in 1973. To this union, Marvin became the father of Jeffrey Carl McFarland, Nina's son from a previous relationship. Nina became the mother of Dwayne Moore, Katrina Hayes, and Denail Carter. A year after this union, Nina and Marvin became the proud parents of a beautiful daughter, Nicole Renee Hayes. This large blended family was now complete. Nina raised all of the children treat each other as siblings, to love each other and never to refer to each other as step. As a woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Nina accepted the Lord as her personal savior at a very young age. She was raised in a home full of love for the Lord, and taught by her parents the importance of having the right relationship with the Lord. When the family relocated to Denver, Colorado they all joined Zion Baptist Church. In 2014, Nina rededicated her life to the Lord and became a member of House of Hope Christian Ministries under pastoral leadership of Pastor Richard Lewis. She truly enjoyed her walk with the Lord and fellowship she shared with her church family. Nina was a homemaker who prided herself in the care of her home and family. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to gospel music and cooking. She was famous for her homemade cinnamon rolls. Early in life she made three lifelong friends, Brenda Marshall, Lois Loggins, and Renee Bryant (deceased). They will miss the fun, loving time they shared. Nina will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman. To know Nina was to love her. Nina was preceded in death by her parents A.D. and Minnie Lee McFarland, and her friend, Renee Bryant. Nina Hayes departed this life to be embraced by the Lord on March 27, 2015 in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memories include three sons, Jeffrey Carl McFarland, Denail Carter, DeWayne (Wynedra) Moore all of Denver; two daughters, Nicole (Derrick) Gregory, Katrina Hayes both of Denver; three brothers, Cornell (Betsey) Hinkle, Carl (Nina) McFarland and Virgil McFarland all of Denver; three sisters, Helen L.
