Nathananel Mario Simpson was born on February 3, 1986, to his mother Ellawese Lindsey in Denver Colorado. Nathananel had a smile from birth that would change the atmosphere of a room and from that, his mother lovingly nicknamed him, "Sunshine." He was later called, "Nate Dogg", or "Nate" by family and friends. Nathananel was the baby of the family; he was raised and always around his brothers, Terrence, and Reginald, Jr., and his sister, Ebony. Nate was a hyper child who loved to be included with any event his older siblings were doing, but as a child, he was not old enough; strongminded, he was still determined. Nate had the privilege of being raised by his stepfather, Delfino Mario Romero his whole life. As Nate got older, and started high school, he was always into school activities such as acting as one of "The Players" in the musical comedy stage play called, "The Zoot Suit Riots" that focused on the Mafia of the early 1900's in the Auditorium of North High School in Denver. Nate also played on the North High School football team. He had a passion for anything he involved himself in. He was the only one of his brothers and sister that graduated from high school. His graduation day was also his mother's birthday, May 21, 2004. He made her so proud and happy with this amazing gift. Nate met Nicole Renee Godin in Denver in the year 2010. They shared many memorable moments, and on July 16, 2014, they sealed their love in marriage. Nate was the proud father of Pamela, Taz, Jay, and Nathananel, Jr. He loved his children and his focus was to take care of his family. He was very proud to be able to be there for his kids and provide for them as well as being part of their everyday life. Nate was always full of life with positive energy no matter what day or what he was going through, he was determined to make things happen. He put smiles on faces around him. He loved telling jokes. Nathananel was the type of person that helped everyone and would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. He touched everybody in one way or another that he came into contact with. He also had a passion for R. C. cars; he would sit up and fix on them whenever he had a chance. He loved electronic toys, and rode a hoverboard around trying to get others to hop on and try to ride. He made it look so easy, that he got his mother to try, with no success… "Whatever Nate put his mind to do, there was no stopping him until he accomplished it." Nate and his best friends, Polo, Richard, Elvis, Gavonni, Josh, Ernest, and Marcus went to high school together and played in stage plays. They had a passion for dancing and loved to break dance. He loved a lot of different music, R&B, Rap, underground and much more. Nate was respectful, well-mannered, and always had a good attitude. His love, care, laugher, open arms and optimism will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him. Nathananel Mario Simpson was called home to glory on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 9, 2016. We all love him but God loves him best. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nicole Godin of Wheat Ridge, his four children, Pamela of Denver, Taz, Jay, and Nathananel, Jr. All of Wheat Ridge; his mother, Ellawese Lindsey of Denver; his sister, Ebony (Daryl Melonson) Simpson of Nacogdoches, Texas; his brothers, Reggie (Winema) Sterling, Jr. and Terrence Simpson both of Denver; his special nieces, Chey and Keke; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
