June 3, 1971 — June 10, 2018

Nakishia Williams was born on June 3, 1971 in Gary, Indiana to her parents, Monroe Williams, and Christine Edwards. She was the first child born to this union. She enjoyed spending time with her siblings, Jamel Ishmael, Delrick LaShawn, and Erica Lynn. As a child, Nakishia spent a lot of time with her aunt, Ceola, who helped raise Nakishia, and her cousins, Elaine, Rita, Kim, Tricey, and Kita. Her family remembers how she also enjoyed taking karate classes and going to Six Flags Amusement parks. With a competitive spirit, Nakishia and Jamel would race on foot, she would always come out the winner in the end. Nakishia attended school in Merrillville, Indiana, and graduated from Merrillville High School in 1991. She then moved to Denver and in 1997, she attended Cambridge College to work as a Dental Hygienist. She spent a significant portion of her work life in dental offices in the Denver community and made many friends. After working in dental for several years, she returned to school, attending the Community College of Denver, she worked diligently and received an Associate in General Studies. Nakishia was the proud mother of Jacob, Alisha, and Quentin. She devoted her entire life raising her three kids. She was dedicated to their success and she loved them despite their choices. In her free time, she loved baking and decorating cakes, traveling with the family, gardening, food, and going to the gun range. She also enjoyed spending time with those she loved the most. After battling with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, which she was diagnosed with in 2016, Nakishia departed this life on June 10, 2018 in Denver, Colorado. She leaves behind three children, Jacob David Brown, Alisha Brown, and Quentin William Clemens; her father, Monroe Williams; her siblings, Jamel (Sarah) Williams, Delrick Williams and Erica Tolliver; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
