MOSES JOHN HAMM,SR.
MAY 29, 1976 – JULY 7, 2020
On May 29th 1976 in Denver Colorado, Moses John Hamm was born to Donny M. Stewart and Joyce A Hamm. He was second oldest of four children, Larry, Nicole and Donny Jr. He was educated in the Denver and Aurora Public School System, where he attended Aurora Central High School. He earned his GED in 1996.
As a young man Moses embraced life with intentions to live life to its fullest. He did it his way and he let the chip fall as they may. Sometimes the results where not always the best but he paid for his actions. Part of the lessons learn led him to understand that God is real and there is purpose for everyone’s life.
In 2018, Moses was ordained as an Elder at Holy Love Deliverance Temple, under the leadership of Pastor Nubine. Moses served faithfully. His passion was reaching the unsaved souls. He worked for the Denver Rescue Mission as the Manager of the Janitorial staff. His street ministry helped him to share his story, pray with clients and share the good news of Jesus Christ. He knew and would often say “some people will never make it into the church building so we have to bring God to them, that may be the only way they will see Christ”. He always wear a hat or t-shirt with inspirational messages on them affirming the goodness, mercy and grace of God.
Family was always a priority in Moses’s life. He was a Mama’s boy but he was very close to his siblings, extended family and friends. He enjoyed family gatherings, to celebrate life together. He had a great sense of humor and he could do a pretty good job of frying chicken, to the delight of those who got the chance to partake.
Moses had a daughter from a previous relationship, Za’taya Da Niese Walker. He married Melissa Turner on May 11, 2016, and to this union, one son was born, Moses John Hamm Jr. Moses loved being a father.
On July 7, 2020, Moses departed this life on earth. He is proceeded in death by his beloved mother Joyce A. Hamm. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Melissa, his son Moses Jr. and daughter Za’taya Walker, his father Donny Stewart Sr., his siblings Larry Hamm, Nicole and Donny Stewart Jr. a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
