Morolene Rogers

Morolene Rogers was born on February 28, 1931, in Opelika, Alabama to her parents, Leonard Ingram and Louella Parmore. Morolene was a loving devoted wife and mother. Her immediate and extended families were very important to her. She met and married Daniel Ruff in 1940 and gave birth to Gloria and Richard Ruff. After the dissolution of that marriage, she wed James Rogers in 1954, and to that union, James and Laverne Rogers were born. Morolene took pride in herself and her children. She loved to dress and her children well. She had a flair for fashion and decorating her home. She embraced the finer things in life and enjoyed getting fashion ideas from Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Cosmopolitan. She also liked to look through Architectural Digest, Better Homes and Gardens, and books on Antiques. Morolene had an eye for quality and it was reflected in her home and her wardrobe. Morolene was always, very hardworking, dependable, independent and well-liked by her neighbors, co-workers, and anyone she met. She worked as a cashier in the late 1950’s at Texas Christian University’s Student Dining Hall until moving to Denver in 1973, where she was a cashier for Stapleton Airport’s Duty-Free/Gift Shops until retiring in 1991. Morolene was a woman of grace and kindness. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved to travel. Being a military wife, she was able to visit many cities, stateside, overseas, and aboard. She had a special love for Texas, California, and Alabama. Out of all her travels, these three cities held a special place in her mind and heart. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Morolene is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Ingram and Louella Parmore; and sisters, Dora Larkins, Alice Thomas, and Mary Hutchinson. Morolene Ann Rogers departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on October 13, 2018, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her daughters, Laverne and Gloria; sons, James and Richard; grandsons, Richard Suggs, Gabriel Suggs, Jay Suggs, Johnathan Ruff, Randy Jones, Dedrick Rogers, Tangelia Maxwell and Michael Stubbs; granddaughter, Yvonne Olivas; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
