Milo Lawrence Royal was born in Denver, Colorado on October 3, 1971. He was the youngest of three children and the only boy. He attended Denver Public Schools, and later relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, where he worked in the hotel industry for many years, as well as Sun Fresh Market where he was a produce specialist. It was there in Kansas City where Milo met his devoted friend, Ammad Humayon. He lived a simple, quiet life, and enjoyed spending time with his daughters. Milo loved his Godfather hats and two-toned shoes. His favorite past-time was buying and restoring old cars. Milo was proud of his 1984 Cadillac which he purchased and restored, as it was a show car. Another favorite of Milo’s was coming home to spend time with friends and his sister Venus who was like second mom to Milo and he truly was the love of her life. Her daughter, Armani thought he was her brother and proudly called him, Uncle-brother. Milo is preceded in death by his mother, Portia Delores Royal; his sister Denise Curtis and grandmother Jessie Mae Royal. Milo departed this earth on September 12, 2017 in Kansas City. He leaves many family members and friends to cherish his memory; he is survived by his sister Venus M. Walker of Arvada, CO; daughters, Portia Delores Royal (lovingly named after his mother) of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Layla Mae Royal of Kansas City, MO; nieces, Raushanah Traxler, Shauntae Curtis and Armani Parker; nephew, Ryan Powell and a host of other great-nieces and nephews. He also leaves life-long friends, Tulonda Lander, Mike Goodloe, Stacie Bonner-Willis, Tracie Bonner-Benton and Viva Morris.
