Miles Edwards

Mr. Miles Beauford Edwards was born in Henderson, Texas December 27, 1942, to the late Mrs. Willie B. Edwards and the late Mr. Ervin Edwards. Miles and his nine siblings moved to Colorado from Henderson Texas at an early age. Miles attended High School in Henderson Texas and Graduated. Miles and his family relocated to Colorado Springs. Miles also stated he attended CU and played Football and Basketball! He loved to watch the football games. He had a love hate relationship with the Broncos. Everyone was a fool if they didn’t do what he thought they should do. Somewhere in his rearing Miles managed to develop a skill like no other shooting dice and playing pool. While his years in Colorado Springs he had a few relationships that didn’t last. He was introduced to a young lady from Oklahoma named Rena Mae. They were quite the Couple! With that Union came Three Beautiful Children and a Nephew Son (Arthur) so let’s say four! They moved to Oklahoma. While in Oklahoma Miles worked in construction building lots of things. One he was most proud of was a bridge. Let’s not forget the Love he had for shooting dice and playing pool. He would have many names develop for how good he was. “Razor Blade” because he was so sharp with his skills, Redwine and Dick! After spending many years in Oklahoma, one of his favorite brothers, Willie “Famous” brought him to Denver, Colorado. He brought his family and inquired another son actually his brother-in law, Larry Gene! Which they had a bond that was very tight. Two cousin-in-laws like brothers, Blue and Albert.

After many years and many, many stories! Ike and Tina!! Lol Miles and Rena split, and he eventually started another family having four more beautiful children with Angela of the four two biological. After many years that Union eventually dissolved.

He was very talented and worked very well with his hands he opened up his own business called John’s Auto Trim detailing cars turning an old hard top into classic rag tops, reupholstering seats, painting cars he would literally turn a Buick skylark into a Cadillac. He was always on the go still playing pool and shooting dice. When I say he was very talented with those dice and that pool stick I really mean it!

He loved, loved those games. He had an art with the dice and that pool stick! Miles Dr. John (J) was known by many, many people ranging from older to younger! He was a very Respectful Man. so cool, so charismatic, so smooth some would say slick or sneaky! He was EXCELLENT with whatever he did he made sure to do things good! Very neat and particularly with his looks and anything he did. Those days he wasn’t the joker very serious person paid close attention to everyone and everything. I would later find out that would be the spirit of discernment. Miles in his second life I would say was more relaxed and even more affectionate. He loved to smile, laugh, joke, sing, dance and even playing the piano! Who would of thought? He was very thoughtful, very polite and still had some sharpness to himself! He would also let you know if he didn’t like something, and you couldn’t do him any kind of way he only fought when he felt the need to protect himself his later days. He was very strong Mentally and physically.  Even with what he was dealing with he never complained he was very strong, determined a fighter. He fought a good fight even until the end. He touched many lives. He will be truly missed.

Miles leaves to cherish his memories five daughters Reno (Brown) Brighton CO,  Shashonta Edwards Aurora CO, Tamara ( Moody) Arizona,  Keyonia Edwards Aurora CO, Achlee (McGowen) Texas, and one son, Miles Edwards, JR. Denver, also Terell Powell who preceded him in death. He also leaves three  son-in-laws  Andy Brown Brighton CO, Ricky Moody Arizona and PJ McGowen of Texas.

Miles had five sisters Ruby, Maxcine, Flora and Audrey of all Colorado Springs and Gloria who preceded him in death.  Miles had four brothers, Willie and Bubba of Colorado Springs and Oscar and Lamar who preceded him in death.

Miles also leaves behind 16 grandchildren Indigo (Cunningham) Aurora, Essence Edwards New York, Tylor Brown Brighton, Journee Edwards Aurora, Cierra Brown Brighton, Myles Edwards Denver, Jeremiah which preceded him in death, Auri and Vae Moody Arizona, Kniyah, Kaze and Korea of Aurora Yayla Grace, Laverne, Sela and Pure of Texas, two great grands Trinity and Phoenix of Aurora. A host of family sisters-in-law, brother in laws, nieces, nephews, and friends!

He would always say I LOVE ALL MY CHILDREN EVERYONE OF THEM. He also loved all of his grandchildren he had more patience with them. He’d talk to them laugh with them play games with them watch tv/movies with them. Pick them up go to football games, basketball games and track meets. He had one great grand Trinity that he was super protective of. She made up a song signing watch out be careful! Lol because he was always fearful that she would fall and hurt herself! Baby P you’ll get to hear stories of your “Great Grandpa.” He was everyone’s FAVORITE UNCLE. I would remember hearing the nieces and nephews saying, “here comes Uncle Beauford.” He will truly be missed.

We would like to thank those for All of the support these past three years! Rena Mae for being there even when you didn’t have to be! Never complained one second.  Truly a blessing THANK YOU!  We Love You!!

I would like to give a Special “Thank you” to the Caregivers at Chelsea Place who were truly a blessing. Those that went way and beyond with providing My Dad with exceptional care. Treating him with Dignity and Respect as if he were your Father or Grandfather. For putting up with all of my demands and working in the spirit of love and excellence.  I am humbled and thankful!
