Michelle Wells - Merriweather

Michelle Lynette Wells-Merriweather was born on June 17, 1967, in Denver, Colorado, to her parents, Katherine “Kitty” Swain and Lankford Wells, Jr. She was the 3rd child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by siblings, Sheila Hudson, Robin Swain-Nelson, Lankford “Junebug” Wells III, Andre Swain, Crystal Stine and Sherrice Tuggle. As a child, she was known for dancing and enjoyed hanging out with her friends.

She matriculated through Denver Public Schools, where she attended Manual High School.

Michelle was a caring, loving mother to one child, Michael Terreal Wells also known as Lil’ Mike. She loved spending time with her family and would fill the room with laughter. She was very affectionate and loved to praise and strengthen others. She was an outspoken woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. She enjoyed crocheting and various crafty projects. Throughout her marriage, Michelle liked quiet nights at home, as well as cooking and watching movies with her husband. She will be best remembered as someone that can make you laugh when you are down. Her comforting demeanor always uplifted our spirits.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Katherine “Kitty” Swain; and siblings, Sheila Hudson, Robin Swain-Nelson and Lankford “Junebug” Wells III.

Michelle L. Wells departed this life on February 10, 2022 in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jerry Merriweather; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael. T. Wells and Sandy Wells; grandchildren, Traevaun M. Wells, Raiylena L. Wells, Dorian Harris and Taylor Harris; her father, Lankford Wells, Jr; her sisters, Crystal Stine and Sherrice Tuggle; her brother, Andre Swain and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
