Michael Houston was born in Denver, Colorado on October 4, 1986, to Donna Houston and Michael Dixon of Denver, Colorado, and to the late Grandparents of Frankie and Thurman Minor also of Denver, Colorado. His grandparents helped raise him while his mom finished her education. His grandpa lovingly nicknamed Michael, "Batman".
Michael was brought up in a strong Christian family and was taught to always keep God first. He also knew that going to church was never an option, he was taught to read a scripture every day and write a summary on what was read. Every night, he and his family would pray together. He would often have fun role-playing as a preacher while the family were his church members.
As a child at the age of six, Michael played peewee football. He was an outstanding athlete and found his passion in peewee football. At the age of ten, he became one of the fastest tailbacks on the team and for his size. He was quick on his feet. He was educated and attended Denver Public Schools and played basketball. He attended Smiley Middle School and completed his secondary education at East High School. For the first two years at East, Michael was involved in football. It was during this time he received the nickname, "The Bus." Michael also had a love for speech and drama. He traveled to many states which include California, Utah, Washington, and even Nebraska. He won many awards for speech and drama.
After two years at East, Michael transferred to Montbello High School, where he started an organization known as, "Young Men Against Violence." At this time, he was noticed by many different colleges and football scouts. He received about fifteen full-ride scholarship offers. With the guidance from his grandfather, Michael accepted an offer in 2005 from the University of Texas in Austin. After two years at the University of Texas, Austin, Michael transferred to the University of Washington, where he learned how to do business.
Michael was known to have tutoring sessions at his house and loved tutoring his cousins on the subjects of Math and English. Learning and comprehending was no task for him. He was so generous, he would give you the shirt off his back and give his last to anyone who was in need. Michael was taught to be a hard worker and to build character. He had a good heart and a tender side to him.
Michael Houston first started his own business two years ago. He decided to name the business, Colorado Auto Glass, LLC. He was so proud of it and his family and friends were all very proud of his accomplishments. “Thank you, Michael, for being the person you were; we love you always and forever.”
On January 20, 2019, Michael Deshawn Houston departed this life in Denver, Colorado. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jennifer Houston; his mother, Donna Houston; his father, Michael (Elizabeth) Dixon; his sisters, Charise Dixon (Thiland Braxton), Tahijsha (Anjelo) Johnson; his brother, Elijah Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, other relatives, and many friends.
