Marquis Terrell Smith also known as "Dough Boy" was born on February 1, 1978 in Denver, Colorado to Dennis D Pruitt and Gwendolyn Ann Baldwin. He was the second child born to this union. Marquis was raised with his brother Dwight "DeeCee" Smith and Tiffanie Smith Mills. He will always be remembered for having a mouth piece. He could really sell ice to an Eskimo. He was what you considered a lady's man.
Marquis received his formal education throughout the Denver/Aurora public school systems. Marquis loved to eat, and his favorite foods were chips (any kind) & noodles. As a child he loved to go to the Boys & Girls club where he played football as defensive end. He also loved to play basketball, dominoes, go bowling and fishing with the family.
When he was in high school, he met Julieta Curry and from that relationship he had is only daughter Octavia Curry. Marquis & Octavia were two peas in the pod. She was what you considered daddy's little girl.
He eventually went on to marry, Laniese and even though this union did not last, he always said that she was the one that he let get away and he would always love her and wish her nothing but the best.
Marquis suffered from Multiple Sclerosis "MS" and in the last 5 years, he was confined to a wheelchair, in and out the hospital, rehabilitation centers and nursing facilities. He had many trials & tribulations during this hard time, but his faith remained strong & in God. He tried to keep a smile on his face and always tried to see the positives in the situation. He did not have a Church home, but he attended any church where he resided. He always said that he would look to the good book "Bible" whenever he was feeling down and needed answers.
Marquis was a loving big teddy bear with a big heart. He would give his last and always made sure everyone around him was happy. He had a heart of gold. He just loved all people for who they were no matter what their background was especially he if noticed that they were in need of help.
Marquis Terrell Smith departed this life to be with the Lord on March 19, 2019 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Marquis will be missed everyday by his daughter Octavia Curry, father, Dennis Pruitt; mother, Gwendolyn
