Marlene Eloise Stubblefield was born on December 4, 1953 in Pueblo, Colorado to her parents, Lillie Mae Conley and Hestle W. Stubblefield, Sr. She was the fifth child born to this union and was raised with her siblings, Hestle, Jr., Renefred, Steven, Linda, Sharon, Deanna and Sheryl.
As a child, Marlene enjoyed reading to her younger siblings. She took pride in being able to help her parents by assisting in the care of her brothers and sisters. Marlene enjoyed babysitting for the neighbors who had little ones. These experiences resulted in Marlene maturing quicker than others her age.
She was educated in Denver Public Schools where she attended and later graduated from George Washington High School. Marlene furthered her education by attending Metro State College.
In 1971 Marlene was blessed with the birth of her only child, Tasha D. Stubblefield. She later gained an additional source of joy with the birth of her grandson, Malcom Stubblefield. One of Malcom’s fondest memories included his grandmother making multiple visits to California to see him. After he moved to Denver, she continued to be there in support of him.
By profession, Marlene worked as a clerk/ secretary for the State of Colorado. She always performed her duties with a spirit of excellence and enjoyed gathering with her co-workers after work.
A true woman of faith, Marlene was a member of Zion Baptist Church, where she attended and served for more than 20 years.
During her free time, Marlene enjoyed listening to music, spending time with her friends, especially, Preston Henry, and most of all spending time with her family.
This world will truly miss this honest and sincere servant of the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Mae Conley and Hestle W. Stubblefield Sr. and her siblings, Hestle, Jr., Steven, Sharon, Deanna and Sheryl.
Marlene passed away on November 20, 2022. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Tasha Stubblefield; grandson, Malcom Stubblefield; siblings, Linda Piedra and Renefred Stubblefield; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
