Mario Jerome (Cummings) Flowers was born March 3, 1988 in Denver Colorado to mother Brenda Cummings and has three older brothers Dominic, David, and Gary. As a child, Mario enjoyed hanging out with his big brothers. They fondly remember a time when they would watch the television show Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and would proceed to re-enact the show with each brother taking on the role of one of the turtles – Mario was always Raphael. Mario graduated from George Washington high school in Denver. He received his Bachelor of Arts in psychology and sociology at The University of Colorado, Denver in 2012. After his undergraduate, Mario volunteered at George Washington High School, Mount Saint Vincent, and Urban Peak before deciding to continue his own education. In 2012, Mario decided to pursue his dreams at the University of Colorado, Denver to complete his Master of Arts in Couples and Families Counseling, which he completed in December of 2016. Mario was a dedicated student and employee, working for The Center for Trauma & Resilience. In addition to his full-time work and school schedule, Mario interned for the People House in Denver to further his knowledge on the subjects he studied. Mario's professional path and passions in life go hand in hand as he always looked to serve something greater than himself. Becoming a psychotherapist was a perfect fit for Mario's compassionate, caring, empathetic, loving, and passionate personality. While at the Center for Trauma & Resilience, Mario helped numerous individuals cope with their own traumas. Most recently, Mario co-facilitated and helped generate the first trauma sensitive yoga group at the Denver County Jail. At People House, Mario grew his experience and expertise by working with many different individuals with various life challenges. In December of 2016, Mario finished his Master of Arts degree and continued to pursue his goals by opening his own business, Dream House LLC, to allow him to experience personal growth and an expansion of knowledge, all while helping others with their own consciousness, spirituality, culture, and self-discovery. Mario embraced and explored all different paths to spirituality; he never feared the unknown and pushed boundaries for his own spiritual growth. Mario was driven to be the best version of himself and he wanted to help guide others to do the same. He wanted to make the world a better a place and believed that he had to start with himself. Mario was nicknamed "M-Easy" because of his down to earth personality and his desire to get along with anyone he encountered. Mario made many friends everywhere he went with his positive attitude, pure heart, and infectious personality. He was known as an exceptional dresser and in his leisure enjoyed travelling the world and spending time with family and friends. Everyone has a special moment with Mario that will be cherished forever. Mario is preceded in death by his loving great-grandmother Cassie Mallet and uncle, Kassie Cummings. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Brenda Cummings; brothers, Dominic (Cassandra) Cummings, David Cummings, and Gary (Ashley) Flowers; grandmother, Mary Barner; girlfriend, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
