Maria Trevino was born on September 02, 1933 in Progresso Texas, to her parents, Jose Zamora and Maria Trevino. Maria was the second child born to this union. Growing up she enjoyed the company of her brothers and sisters, Adan Villarreal, Panfilo Zamora, Casimiro Zamora and Pablo Zamora and her sisters Hortencia Zamora, Polar Galvan-Zamora and Sanjuanita Zamora-Vargas. They remember her as a child that she loved to collect honey from bee-hives and a memory from her childhood was causing trouble with her brothers and her Mother chasing all of them around. Maria completed her formal education in Mexico, before starting her life's journey. She met a young man that took her hand in marriage at a very young age, Gilberto Hernandez Trevino in Tamaulipas Mexico. Children born to this union are Aurora Cortez-Brumley, Gilbert Trevino, Tivi Hood, Elva Alicia Trevino-Cruz, Ruben Trevino, Jose Luis Trevino, Willie Trevino, Francisco John Trevino and Susie Soroka-Trevino. Her children remember growing up in Commerce City, Colorado, working in the fields planting and growing vegetables and in the Green-Houses planting and growing fresh flowers. Her son Frank remembers his Mom being the fastest and the most productive with her technique of planting. They also remember they're Mother taking them to Lakeside Amusement Park, to the Mountains on Easter, especially to Buffalo Bill's Grave in Lookout Mountain, they also remember growing up going on many picnics at Sloan's Lake. Her children remember how happy she was when the family purchased their first home in Montbello, Colorado. Her son Willie remembers her sense of humor and how it could lighten anyone's day. If someone was having a bad day, she would brighten it with her presence, a kind word or a burrito. He remembers her never being in a bad mood. Maria was blessed with 25 Grandchildren —Roberto Cortez, Christina Manns, James Brumley, Daniel Trevino, Bonnie Trevino, Manual Lopez, Ruben Lopez, Yolanda Trevino, Rachel Nunez, Ray Cruz, Crystal Rivera, Natalie Trevino, Olivia Trevino, Alexandra Trevino, Nicolai Trevino, Brandy Vigil, Debra Vigil, Lou Trevino, Giovanni Trevino, Cortez Trevino, David Salaz, Tim Salaz, Eddie Salaz, Angelica Khalik and Alex Soroka. Nicknames her grandchildren called her were "Grama Grama" "Bisa" "Grama Leecha" "Grama Bino" "Grama T" Memories from her grandchildren are; her taking care of them, feeding them, taking them to and from school, sometimes having to sit and stay in class with them, dancing with them and always being loving and nurturing, kind and teaching them values. They also remember her taking them to Church at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Her granddaughter remembers her treating her friends as her own as well. Maria's profession was first as a field worker in Commerce City, Colorado on the Spano Ranch. After leaving that profession, she became a home-maker to take care of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maria was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Denver for the majority of her life in Denver Colorado. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, cooking, listening to her music, reading the Bible, dancing and going to Mexican concerts, her favorite group were Los Tigres Del Norte. She had many friends and she will be best remembered by her friends for her kindness, for always wanting to help in any situation and being the friend that was always bailing other people's children out of jail. All her friends knew her as someone who would give her shirt off of her back to help.
