Margie Green

May 2, 1952 — October 5, 2015

Margie Ann Green was born on May 2, 1952, in Midland, Texas; the baby of three children born to Coy John Martin Jr. and Mary Marie Fillmore Martin. "Doll" as she was affectionately called throughout life, was a bright, inquisitive child with a loving and compassionate spirit. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a young age and united with the Lights Chapel Baptist Church in her home town. In 1959, Doll, along with her mother and siblings relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she joined Shiloh Baptist Church and served as an active and faithful member. She also became a vital member of her community. After the unexpected death of her brother, she and her family relocated to Denver, Colorado in 1965. Upon arriving in Denver, she became a member of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Family. Doll loved Pilgrim Rest and became a pillar of her church by diligently serving in the Sanctuary Choir. In 1969, Doll graduated from East High School in Denver. Following graduation, she attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. She later gained employment at Mountain Bell and Diners Club. She ultimately retired from the United States Postal Service in 2011, after 24 years of dedicated service. In 1973, Doll united in holy matrimony to Micheal Kennith Green. To their union, three beautiful children, Marlon Keith, Myka Akendra, and Michele Alexis were born. She believed in the Lord faithfully in sickness and in health. Doll was always welcoming and very giving. She never made anyone feel uneasy around her. She loved her three children and grandchildren with all her heart. There was nothing, she would not do for her family to make sure their needs were met. Despite her struggle with illness, she never let it get her down and always welcomed everyone with a smile. She was equally a blessing to everyone who knew her. She enjoyed watching her shoot-em-ups, eating her favorite "Spicy Mexican" food, cooking and attending family gatherings, and took pride in her "natural" nail art. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman. To know Margie was to love her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Mary Martin, and a brother, Brent Martin. On Monday, October 5, 2015, Margie Ann Green affectionately called; "Doll" completed her earthly journey, going peacefully and gracefully, from labor to reward.
