A time to be born... Margaret Luzella was born on April 7, 1927, in Kansas City, Kansas was born to her parents, Arvella Camplin, and Ida Mae Haynes-Wilson. A time to love... Margaret met Matthew Dishmon and to that union had six children: Marvin, Loretta, Alphonzo, Andre, Cheryl, and Naamon. The family shared many memorable times together. Margaret would marry four times but no other children were birthed. A time to earn... Margaret worked diligently for the Los Angeles County Department of Children Services, and eventually retired from the county. She also worked for the Kansas City Missouri Mental Health Hospital for many years. She received many awards for services. A time to worship... Margaret loved the Lord and served him throughout her life. She and her six children were the first members of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Denver, Colorado, under the leadership of Bishop Acen Phillips. Margaret loved to serve; she served on the usher board at Mt. Gilead. She was also a member of New Birth Baptist Church and 35th Street Baptist Church (now Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church) in Kansas City, Missouri where again she served as an usher. When she lived to Los Angeles, California, Margaret was a member of Ward AME Church for 15 years where she functioned as the President of the Usher Board. A time for hobbies... Margaret enjoyed music, her favorite songs were Precious Lord, God Has Smiled on Me, I'll Fly Away, Amazing Grace, and Ordered My Steps in Your Word. She also enjoyed dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Margaret loved to travel and spent time in Paris and London. A time to mourn... Margaret was preceded in death by her children, Marvin, Loretta, Alphonzo, and Andre; her parents, Arvella Camplin, and Ida Mae Haynes-Wilson. Margaret Luzella Dishmon-Brown departed this life on June 3, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. She leaves to cherish her love, and mourn her loss a daughter, Cheryl Dishmon; and a son, Naamon Dishmon; a brother, Clark (Virgie) Wilson of Las Vegas; a sister Maxine (Billy) Rucker of Kansas City, MO; 10 grandchildren, 17 greats, and 5 great-great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
