Malcom Joshua Watts was born on December 14, 1982, in Bad Kissingen, Germany to his parents, Billie M. Short and Vesta L. Watts, Sr. He was the second child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Vesta, Jr., Darryl. Jr.; and his sisters, Shauzmene, and Shanada. He loved riding his bike, playing basketball, Xbox play station and drawing. He received his formal education in Denver where he attended East High School. Malcom was the proud father of a beautiful baby girl named Allahnique M. Watts. He was a caring and nurturing father who took great pride in spending quality time with his daughter. They shared many happy and precious moments together. On March 16, 2016, Malcom wed Alicia L. Dickerson in Denver, Colorado. They first met while attending a social gathering. Alicia fondly remembers his proposal and how creative he was in asking for her hand in marriage. With this union, Edward and Jesse were now added to the family. Malcom was a hardworking entrepreneur. He worked alongside his father, Minister Darryl Hicks at Hicks Landscaping. A fond memory of working together was that of Malcom when he jack knifed a truck trying to park a trailer. A man of faith and belief in the Lord, Malcom was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Christ Jesus. He joined the church under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Paul and Evangelist Dallas Burleson. Malcom was a fun loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time he enjoyed fixing cars, playing and watching basketball and spending quality time with his wife, children and other family and friends. His closest friend, Damien "DaDa" Tarver will miss the camaraderie they shared together and the fact that he was a true and trusted friend. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this one of a kind guy. To know Malcom was to love him Malcom was a true character who was full of SWAG: Saved With Amazing Grace. Malcom was preceded in death by his daughter, Mir-Liasian Watts; his grandparents, Doris Watts Morgan, Lee Watts, Sr., Beverly Alley; great grandparents, Wade Bates, Eula Mae Anderson, Annie Jones, and aunt, Roxanne D. Short. Malcom Joshua Watts departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on March 18, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his wife, Alicia L. Watts; his daughter, Allahnique M. Watts; his step sons, Edward D. Riley and Jesse E. Riley; his parents, Billie and Minister Darryl Hicks, Sr. all of Denver, Colorado and Vesta L. and Rita Watts of Aurora; two brothers, Vesta L. Watts, Jr. and Darryl J. Hicks, Jr.; two sisters, Shauzmene D. Hicks and Shanada D. Hicks; his mother and father in law, Jacqueline Lee and Charles Martin all of Denver; his aunts and uncles, Ann and Larry Clark, Baton Rouge, LA, Elisa J. and Charles Goss, North Carolina, Yvette Hicks-Stewart, Connie Remsey, both of Denver, Fannie McFadden, Hammond, LA, Clifford Short, Denver, Pamela Kuykendoll, Aurora, Wade and Amelia Watts, Hammond, LA, Darren Short Scott, Diane Hicks, Lee and Gwen Watts, Kevin Washington, Joseph Watts Joe Bates, all of Denver Joyce Charice, Covington, LA and Janie and Darwin Williamson, Sheridan, WY; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
