On December 25, 1942 in Oak Grove, LA proud parents Johnnie Waits and Lurlean Martin was blessed with a beautiful baby girl Maggie Jean Waits. Maggie was the second of 10 children. In 1985 Maggie moved to Colorado with her mother to be closer to her family. With many memories of Maggie, her family recalls her going down to the cab stand to have her morning soda and visiting with a neighbor every morning to satisfy her love of oranges. The fondest memory that stands out most about Maggie is when her mom would make fresh pies and how her mother would have to watch her because Maggie would eat all the meringue off the pies. Maggie loved to spend time with her family going for drives and family gatherings. All the younger kids would eat her dinner and she would just sit there and watch them. On February 8, 2016, Maggie was called home. Maggie is preceded in death by her two brothers Rufus and Jimmy Martin, her sister Eva Jean McDaniels and her father Johnnie Waits. Maggie leaves to cherish her memories, her mother Lurlean Anderson of Denver, CO, her sisters Mary McClenton, Georgia (Eugene) Whitfield, Norma (Ronald) Wise, Earlean Anderson, all of Denver Co, and Annette Givens of Bastrop, LA, her two brothers, Charles Waits of Denver CO and Malcom (Diana) Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO, and many nieces and nephews and host of family and friends. "You will be truly missed Aunt Maggie"
