Mack McCray Williams was born on February 26, 1953, in Idabel, Oklahoma to Arthur and Roette McCray. He was the fifth child born to this union. Mack joined the US Marine Corps in 1975. He was stationed in Santa Ana, California. He was honorably discharged. Although Mack worked diligently in various positions as a civilian, he will most notably be remembered for his "off-duty" work hours. When Mack socialized with his friends, he was the center of attraction. He especially enjoyed spending time with his cousins who were more like his brothers and sisters and family. Mack became the dynamic, family singer and entertainer. He could sing like his favorite artist, the legendary Al Green. When Mack was not singing, he was re-enacting TV characters while engaging in one of his hobbies, watching classic, Western movies. One of his lines of introduction was, "Do you remember?" Then the fun and laughter really began when he performed his rendition of his favorite sports celebrity, Muhammad Ali. From a young age, Mack had the ability to turn any situation into an optimistic thought. He would never let negative words come from his mouth, even if he was in pain. In fact, a parrot from the country store in Spencer, Oklahoma was his witness and frequently repeated his words,"Holddd that painnn!" Mack attended Grace and Truth Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Denver, Colorado. Mack rededicated his life to the Lord Jesus Christ. Preceding Mack in death, was his wife, Jacquelyn Williams; father Arthur McCray; and his mother Roette McCray-Taylor; and grandson Mack McCray III. Mack departed this life on November 6, 2016, in Lakewood, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory are his children Mack LaDon McCray II of Houston Texas, Andrew Lamont Williams of Dallas, Texas, and Hanna (Dave) Roette Flenoid Hughes of Cleveland Ohio; his grandchildren Ceanie Morales, Privledge McCray, McKenize McCray, Jada Alice Williams, Caleb Hughes and Kaitlyn Hughes; sisters Dorothy Jean Snoddy, Bobby Jean (Danny, Sr.) Long, Linda Sue McCray Packer Jackson, Lodene (James) McCray Turner all of Denver, Colorado; Eddie Jean Garris of DeSoto, Texas; brothers Calvin Westley Murphy of Denver, Colorado; Arthur Ray McCray of Wilmer, Texas; and Freddis Lee McCray of Wilmer, Texas; and countless family, relatives and friends.
