Mable Lee was born in Arkansas City, Arkansas on September 13, 1931 to George and Velvet Wise. The family later moved to Omaha Nebraska. Mable graduated from Omaha Technical High School in 1949. She attended Omaha University for a time. While visiting in Denver, Colorado, she met Clifton Cozart. They married in Omaha on December 21, 1952. They had no children but they were parents to many. Mable moved to Denver, Colorado and began working for the Federal Aviation Administration. After retirement, Mable was very active in her community. She volunteered with many different organizations. Mable worked for Senator Regis Groff and Senator Gloria Tanner in their Community Office. She attended many meetings for the Senators when they were unavailable. Mable assisted minority adults in the community helping them find employment. She also helped youth to find summer jobs. She was very involved with her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha. Mable was also a member of the Regina Club a social and civic organization for over 50 years. She was a political activist seeking to make changes for the betterment of the community. Mable's and Cliff's home was always open to family and friends. She was a caring, fun loving person. Her big heart and giving soul will live on in our memories. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of fifty-two years Clifton Cozart, her brother Victor H. Wise and her niece Vicki Lee Patterson. Mable Lee Cozart departed this life on May 4, 2017. She will be forever be missed by her family; brothers Roosevelt (Irma) Wise, George (Mary) Wise, her uncle Isaac "Bud" Bell. Nieces: Gloria Veleta Wise, Rosalind (Jamal) Ali, Joy Wise (Lovell) Davis, and Marian Kerner. Nephews: Victor "Rocky" Wise, Kelvin Wise, Kenneth G. Batson. Great Nephews: Charles Scott, Jamar James Wise, Bradley Wise, Arshad Ali, and Jayden Wise Davis. Great Nieces: Vicki Lyn Wedgeworth, Veleta Ray Wilkerson, Allison Wise, Shalanda Lynn Wise, Amirah Ali, Kendall Mitchell-Martin (was like a daughter). Great Great Niece: Caitlin Martin. Great Great Nephews: John E. Pritchett IV, and Brandon Martin. If we mistakenly omitted your name, please know you are loved and appreciated. Extended family and friends will always cherish the memories of Mable.
