Lucy Brown

November 20, 1943 — November 29, 2016

Lucy Ann Brown was born on November 20, 1943, in Minter, Mississippi, the oldest daughter of K C Moore, Sr. and Lillie McMath. She received her education in the public school system. Lucy Ann was united in marriage to Jimmie Brown, Jr. on August 16, 1963, and later moved to Chicago, Illinois. They raised three children together: Cheryl Denise, Kendrick Lydell and Samuel Roddrick. Lucy Ann acknowledged her gift of loving others, especially children, early in her life. She was the oldest girl in a family of ten children; and, played an encouraging role in the lives of her younger brothers and sisters. Her love for children continued as a para-professional with the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic school system. She worked at St. Helena of the Cross school on the south side of Chicago and touched so many lives of children in the computer lab and as the church's First Communion teacher. In 2010, Lucy Ann and Jimmie officially moved to Denver, Colorado to help care for family. Lucy Ann confessed Christ at an early age and was a member in church throughout her life. She showed her love for God and belief in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit through her actions. She loved unconditionally and shared this love with everyone throughout her life. Even in the summer of 2016, Lucy Ann was an active Vacation Bible School volunteer at Bear Valley Church crawling around the floor with her "Mighty, Mighty Millipedes". There was no greater earthly joy in her life than loving on children. Lucy Ann was called Home on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; brothers, James Earl and Larry; and sister, Marva Jean. She leaves to cherish fond memories 1 daughter: Cheryl Denise (Frank) Brooks; 2 sons: Kendrick (Holly) and Samuel (Jilliean) all of Denver, Colorado; 2 brothers: K C Moore, Jr. and Glenn Allen Moore; 4 sisters: Mary Lillie Howze, Annie Lee Moore, Linda Faye Moore, and Gwendolyn Eyvette Watson; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends…. and Ken.
