The Life and Legacy of Loveda Elaine Woods Loveda Elaine Woods was born on February 7th, 1952 to her parents Mary and Ezell Woods. She was the fourth child of eleven siblings. Loveda received her grade school and high school education in Grand Prairie, Texas. In her early years she went from being the least popular girl to the most popular girl where she set the standard. Loveda grew up during the “Hot Rod” Era where muscle cars were very popular. Her first car was a 1967 Chevy Camaro. The day she purchased the car she took her brother Larry to help with the car selection. He was going to attempt to show Loveda how to drive a Stick but Loveda already knew how to drive a stick and was a master at it. After graduating high school Loveda moved to Oakland, CA. For a few years, She continued her career as a licensed practical nurse before starting her career as an equipment parts specialist with the City of Oakland in 1984. She was responsible for the maintenance of emergency response vehicles and was known to drive different types of fire trucks and engines thanks to her extensive driving skills and her overall love of driving. Shortly after she was promoted to supervisor and worked with the City from 1989 to 1993 before relocating to Aurora, CO. One of Loveda's greatest dreams came true with the birth of her daughter, Alexis Elaine Franklin. Alexis became the center of her universe and her joy in life. Loveda dedicated herself to raising Alexis and providing her with a very fulfilling life. Loveda and Alexis relocated to Aurora, CO in 1995 where Loveda started her profession as a buyer for Vistar VSA/PFG (Performance Food Group). She was promoted to accounts payable where she worked faithfully for 20 years before retiring in 2014. Loveda was very outgoing and sociable. Dancing was her all time favorite thing to do. Her trademark dance move was “The Shotgun”. She became so great at this that she was often called upon friends and family to preform it. Not only did she preform it, She OWNED it. Loveda was a fantastic cook. While Alexis was growing up her spaghetti dish became legend among the neighborhood kids and Loveda always shared a plate with them. Loveda learned her cooking skills from her mother and those skills were what made every dish she made memorable. Loveda was an extremely loving and caring person. She worked hard, loved even harder and always gave wholeheartedly. She never failed to let those around her know how much she cared for and appreciated them. She will be forever missed and never forgotten. She is preceded in death by both of her parents Mary and Ezell Woods as well as her brother Kirby Woods.
