A Time to be born Lonnie Larue Childs was born July 31, 1937 to the late R.E. Childs, Sr. and Adeline Jones. He was the second eldest child to his parents. Lonnie was a joyful child who was loved by many. A Time to growâ₦ Lonnie was educated in Ethel, Arkansas and graduated from Emmanuel High School in 1956. After graduation he moved to Chicago, Illinois and married the lovely Joyce Jean Keeble. This union was blessed with seven beautiful children. A Time to serveâ₦ Mr. Childs loved the Lord and was an avid reader of the scripture. He worked as a Laborer for Railway Express and was known as one of the most diligent workers for the company. Lonnie was artistic and enjoyed making works of art to include fresh oil paintings and canes. A Time to restâ₦ The Lord called Lonnie home on September 25, 2017 at Saint Joseph Hospital from labor to reward in Denver, Colorado. One daughter preceded him in death, Magalena Childs. His Legacyâ₦ He leaves to cherish his memories seven children, Lonnie Childs, Darlene (Victor) Wynn, Brenda (Michael) Walden, Carleton (Venus) Childs, Cassandra (Leroy) Rogers, Dwaine (Denise) Childs, Mary (Dan) Tynch; two brothers, Roy (Sonja) Childs, Jimmie Childs; two sisters, Lola (Reuben) Armstrong, Joyce (Charlie) Chambers; eighteen grandchildren, Leticia Childs, Elizabeth (Keith) Sisk, Elisha Childs, Joyce (Leo) Dennison, Victor Timothy Wynn, Jonathan (Latavia) Wynn, Michael Walden, Naomi Childs, Alicia (Terrell) Fitts, LeRoy Rogers, Porcia Rogers, Marcus Walden, Carleton Childs, Preston Rogers, Mark G. Walden, Morgyn Childs, Danielle (Andre) Jones, Wilson (Danielle) Greer; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends.
