Lisa A. Sanders

April 25, 1963 — June 22, 2023

Denver

Lisa A. Sanders was born on April 25, 1963, and grew up in the city attending West High School. Later on, she attended Job Corp in Salt Lake City where she learned how to drive CDL trucks and restaurant management.

Lisa was accomplished in her career and worked as a manager at Denny’s, Burger King, and McDonald's. Despite her demanding job, she always found time for loved ones. A kind-hearted woman with a vibrant personality, Lisa had an infectious smile and an ebullient spirit that won over everyone who knew her.

Lisa was especially close with her mother and sisters. They had a unique relationship – one built on love and trust – that gave Lisa constant strength throughout her life. Her nephews also held a special place in her heart that none could fill.

In addition to being sweet, loving, kind and giving to those around her, Lisa had many hobbies that brought joy to her life. She enjoyed spending time with her cat Thelmalina aka Thumb; partying with friends; working out to keep herself healthy; cooking Mexican food & spaghetti dishes that endlessly nourished her soul; riding scooters to explore new places atop two wheels – all the while connecting with new people throughout the community.

The end of Lisa’s chapter comes with deep sadness, but her family and friends are confident in knowing that her infectious smile, vivacious spirit, and unwavering love will always be remembered. Everyone who knew Lisa can attest to how much of an impact she had upon them, and one could only hope to emulate the zeal for life that she so radiantly exuded.

Lisa A. Sanders passed away on June 22, 2023, at the age of 60 years old in her hometown of Denver, Colorado.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther Sanders and Eddie Mae (Evans) Sanders.

Lisa’s memory will live on through cherished moments shared with those who loved her dearly. She is survived by three children she called her own, Arielle Bower, Richard Torres and Shawn Torres; siblings, Gregory Tyus, Luther “Junie” Sanders Jr., Venus (Maurice) Waits, Sandra “Sandy” Walker and Kevin Walker; nephews, Terran, John II, Jaylen & Joshua; great-nephews, Jarryn & Jeinnasea; close friends, Diane, Yvette, Renee (Auntie) and David Stone.
